Deadline is reporting that Jesse James Keitel (Fluidity) will co-star in upcoming ABC PI drama The Big Sky.
Based on the C.J. Box novel The Highway, with David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) developing for television, The Big Sky follows private investigator Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) as she teams up with ex-cop Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) to look into the disappearance of two sisters, said to be kidnapped by a trucker on a remote Montana highway. Once the pair discover that other women have been abducted, as well, they find themselves in a race against time to stop the killer.
Keitel will play gender-fluid artist Jerrie, a fish out of water in their small town who makes a connection with truck driver Ronald.
The Big Sky was the first ABC drama to get a series order for 2020-21. The network has several pilots in contention, including gothic soap The Brides, about the complicated relationship between Dracula’s three immortal wives; thirtysomething sequel thirtysomething(else); family restaurant saga Harlem’s Kitchen; plane crash tale Wreckage; and legal drama Rebel, which stars Katey Sagal as an Erin Brockovitch-like figure.
Keitel’s television credits include Younger, Celebrity Ghost Stories, and What Would You Do?. They join a cast that also includes Natalie Alyn Lind, Brian Geraghty, Dedee Pfeiffer, Ryan Phillippe, and John Carroll Lynch.
