MTV BOOKS / GALLERY BOOKS TO PUBLISH ON FIRE, AN ORIGINAL NOVEL BASED ON THE HIT MTV SERIES TEEN WOLF
NEW YORK, NY (March 6, 2012) – MTV Books and Gallery Books are partnering to publish ON FIRE, an original novel based on MTV’s hit series Teen Wolf. The novel, written by the New York Times bestselling author Nancy Holder, will be published on June 5, 2012. The series will return for a second season this summer on MTV.
ON FIRE takes fans deeper into the lives of their favorite characters from the series and reveals some of the dark secrets that complicate their lives and relationships, including new details in the development of Scott and Allison’s romance, family histories for Stiles and Jackson, and Derek’s troubled past.
“ON FIRE gives a glimpse into mysteries that will set up new episodes of Teen Wolf, while giving fans a unique insight into the minds and feelings of the characters as only a novel can do,” said Jeff Davis, executive producer of the Teen Wolf series on MTV.
MTV’s Teen Wolf is a sexy, suspenseful drama about transformation set against the backdrop of contemporary teen life, with a forbidden, romantic love story at its core, making it a fresh and different take on the iconic movie. The critically acclaimed hit series made its debut in 2011 and drew 1.7 million viewers each week, culminating in a series high 2.1 million viewers for the season one finale.
Teen Wolf stars Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, Dylan O’Brien as Stiles, Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale, Holland Roden as Lydia Martin, and Colton Haynes as Jackson Whittemore.
Teen Wolf was developed by Jeff Davis (creator, Criminal Minds) who also serves as executive producer. Additional executive producers include Marty Adelstein (Prison Break), René Echevarria (Medium, Castle), Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley. Russell Mulcahy (Highlander, Resident Evil: Extinction) is co-executive producer. The pilot was written by Jeff Davis and Jeph Loeb & Matthew Weisman and directed by Russell Mulcahy. The Teen Wolf series is based on a Screenplay by Jeph Loeb & Matthew Weisman. Justin Levy and Julie Schwachenwald are the MTV executives in charge of production. The series is a co-production with MGM, in association with Lost Marbles Productions, Inc., First Cause, Inc. and DiGa.
