Twelve years ago, a journey started for Sam and Dean Winchester, beloved and played by actors Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Over that trip, they’ve met beloved characters like John Winchester, Bobby, Kevin, Charlie, Chuck, Crowley, Ruby, and Castiel; they’ve lost as many as they’ve loved; and they have persisted in saving people and hunting things.
To celebrate the anniversary, “Supernatural Day” is a thing that is happening on social media and in Hot Topic stores today, September 13.
For our own contribution to Supernatural Day, here’s a look at the first article we wrote about Supernatural on KryptonSite back in 2005. Apologies in advance for the navigation opening in new windows. Fans are invited to keep up with our Supernatural content here at the site; our once-thriving Supernatural forum still has a number of regular posters and we’re always welcoming people back. Supernatural has been a trip that has brought together a #SPNFamily. Below, find a press release with details on how everyone else is celebrating.
About Supernatural Day:
Hunters, demons, angels, vampires, ghosts, and all other supernatural creatures will unite with millions of fans on September 13 to celebrate 12 years of the Winchester Brothers’ journey on Supernatural. September 13 is already celebrated by fans as it is the official date Supernatural aired over a decade ago. The day will honor the Winchester brothers and their motto: Saving people, hunting things – the family business. Supernatural would not be the phenomenon it is today without its biggest supporters: the fans. Fans will have the opportunity to show their ultimate Supernatural pride.
Supernatural Day is a day to celebrate three things:
- the show
- the fans
- the cast and crew
Fans can show their Supernatural pride by:
- Sharing their favorite moments
- Showing how they are the biggest fan (ie cosplay, videos, etc)
- Share images of “Possessed & Obsessed” tattoos on their arms
The CW:
- Will be sharing favorite moments countdown every week
- On 9/13, CW will be showing appreciation for fans through retweets, reposts and Instagram pics featuring “Possessed & Obsessed” tattoos
Talent:
Some of the cast and crew will also be participating on social media and will be following #SupernaturalDay – keep an eye out for a special message from the show on 9/13!
Hot Topic
· Hot Topic is the headquarters for Supernatural fans. Fans can visit their local Hot Topic or hottopic.com for all their Supernatural needs – tees, dresses, accessories and more.
· Hot Topic will be the only place fans can get a Supernatural Day limited edition t-shirt.
· Beginning September 2nd, join @hottopic on Twitter as they countdown their favorite moments from each season.
· Starting on 9/5, any Supernatural purchase will come with a temporary tattoo to help fans celebrate Supernatural Day.
