With 12 seasons in their rearview mirror and a 13th currently filming, Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are very close, and it seems that when a new cast member joins the team, the perfect sign that a newcomer is liked is if they are given a lot of grief.
Misha Collins (Castiel) was a longtime target of the actors who play the Winchester brothers and now Alexander Calvert, who joined the cast this year as “Jack,” seems to be a favorite new toy.
During a visit to the Supernatural studios last week in Vancouver, we asked Calvert about the teasing which the actor refers to as “hazing.”
“It’s all starting to feel like a blur now,” Calvert said. “Pretty much from half way through the first episode, I think I laughed at a fart joke or a dick joke, so it’s just kinda been downhill from there. As soon as they saw how easy a target I was to laugh at pretty much anything, it’s kinda just been game on for them since,” he continued.
Jensen and Jared even have a name for their new friend.
“Misha 2.0 I’ve been dubbed. Whatever that means,” Alexander revealed.
