The DC Comics invasion of TV continues, as they now have projects involved at every major broadcast network but ABC (and ABC is unlikely, since they are associated with Disney/Marvel).
This morning, news came from outlets including TVLine that CBS has given a series commitment to the Supergirl TV series that is written by Ali Adler and executive produced by Adler, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter. “Series commitment” doesn’t TOTALLY mean it will air; it means that if they don’t go to series, there is a big penalty.
TVLine also has confirmed that cooler minds have prevailed and the title of the series will indeed be Supergirl.
There are also some new details that have been revealed: In the official logline, it is revealed that this version Kara escaped the planet Krypton amid its destruction. Having hid all this time on Earth the powers she shares with her famous cousin, 24-year-old Kara decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was meant to be.

So technically, this version of Supergirl is more like Superwoman since she isn’t even a teen.
AWESOME NEWS!!!! I´ve been wanting a series about “Supergirl” since the appearance of Kara back in season 7 of “Smallville” Now, can somebody please contact Claire Holt´s agent and give her the role, please:-)! Again, I am jumping up and down right now!

I’m confused. If she escaped Krypton before it exploded (just as Kal-El did), and Kal-El was a baby when he left, wouldn’t Supergirl be the same age or OLDER than Superman? Unless she was frozen or in another dimension, they SHOULD age the same way, right?
