this is why i hate the CW. you make us wait months to get new episodes, yet the day before now all of a sudden it changes?! down with the CW!!!

    2. Anura on Jan 27, 2011 2:18 pm

When Smallville & SPN are done, then I’m done with the CW!

    3. gotham22 on Jan 27, 2011 2:29 pm

They better show a new episode to make up for this while every other show is on hiatus for Easter.

    4. sweeney on Jan 27, 2011 2:34 pm

      FOR THE LOVE OF FECK!!!

    5. JW on Jan 27, 2011 2:38 pm

They wonder why they always have to struggle to keep up. It’s stuff like this. They promoted this episode of Supernatural to death. It’s the end of a mid-season hiatus, and they’ve been teasing the fanbase all week. Now little more than 24 hours before show time, they yank it for a RERUN of a dying show? CW, THAT is why you can’t cut it with the big networks. You keep cutting off your nose to spite your face. It’s going to serve you right if nobody tunes in for that rerun, or the new Supernatural episode when you finally get around to airing it a week late. Have fun with the fan explosion and the fall out. It’s not going to be pretty, but you’ve definitely earned it.

    6. tim on Jan 27, 2011 2:41 pm

they better air smallville threw the summer with all the dam delays and waits they forced us threw

    7. Jason A on Jan 27, 2011 2:44 pm

I hate it when the CW does this. It is why people avoid tv channels more now compared to 10 even 5 years ago and now we use the Internet and TIVO more for shows. People tired of getting long hiatuses and skipping episodes out of order and sudden changes like this one.

    8. Brittany on Jan 27, 2011 2:58 pm

      I hate the CW.

    9. Holly on Jan 27, 2011 3:11 pm

I said I would never watch the WB after they cancelled my favorite show back in 2003… I came back for Smallville… now with that CRAP… I wish there was SO WAY to punish them AND still see Smallville… DAMN, I HATE THIS NETWORK!!!

    10. B on Jan 27, 2011 3:21 pm

What?! What?! I can’t believe this is happening & all because they want to show reruns of Vampire Diaries & Nakita? Are you kidding me? I’m highly disappointed right now especially when I’ve been waiting over a month for Smallville’s return! Thanks for nothing, CW!!!

    11. Bouroux on Jan 27, 2011 3:24 pm

The reasons of the delay are????

    12. CMW on Jan 27, 2011 3:30 pm

This is Smallville’s last season… there is no way the cw is going to cancel it… so everyone boycott it on friday night and watch it on itunes or amazon the next day. It would be worth paying to 2 or 3 dollars an episode to teach the cw a lesson!

    13. Melissa on Jan 27, 2011 3:40 pm

Yeah. I’m pissed to say the least. When Smallville is done, I will never watch a single CW program again. This network is so full of BS it’s ludicrous.

    14. Scott Pilgrim on Jan 27, 2011 3:42 pm

Maybe it will still premiere in Canada on Space Channel. If it does i’m gonna watch it online line somewhere. That will show the CW. I want my Smallville and Supernatural and nothing is gonna stop me. Down with Dawn.

    15. foopher on Jan 27, 2011 4:16 pm

      $&!%# YOU CW!!!!!

    16. Kari on Jan 27, 2011 4:37 pm

The CW is crap. The fans waited weeks for new episodes of Smallville and Supernatural and they go and pull this I at first didn’t like the CW but now it has upgraded to loath when Smallville and Supernatural are done then I am done with the CW.

    17. PHOENIXZERO on Jan 27, 2011 4:41 pm

I have a feeling I know why they’re delaying Smallville’s return, to push back Beacon a little, it’s they also altered the description slightly changing Martha’s getting shot to “attacked” makes me wonder if they’re also altering the episode itself..

They probably should have had Supernatural stay on even with losing it’s new Smallville EP lead in. Just so Smallville would get its finale night to itself.

    18. Strawberry on Jan 27, 2011 5:04 pm

I can’t believe this crap what in the world are they doing?! I won’t be watching anything else on the CW if my life depends on it!!!

    19. CW, you Suck! on Jan 27, 2011 5:12 pm

This network gave no reasoning whatsoever as to why they are delaying the episode. “An ‘ENCORE’ presentation”??? Really?! I never knew that an “encore” was just ONE episode long. Your network is full of idiots, CW. You couldn’t hack it with WB and you’re sucking now. I only watch CW for Smallville. After this season, BYE BYE CW!

    20. Belle on Jan 27, 2011 5:26 pm

      Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

    21. ACS on Jan 27, 2011 5:26 pm

      This is bull
Nobody likes The Vampire Diaries. It is some lame dramatic series that gets to have two episodes in a row?

We Smallville fans have had tomorrow marked on our calendars and have waited weeks and weeks for this. This is ridiculous. It’s literally THE NIGHT BEFORE.

      get your crap together CW

    22. Jeremy on Jan 27, 2011 5:39 pm

Has Anyone thought for one second on the Reason why they are delaying it for a Week, It Probably because they need to edit out the Following weeks episode with Martha in it, so they can get rid of her getting shot in the awake of the Arizone Shooting, Did you people think of that, if not you don’t give a flying rats butt about the Lady who was Shot & You people are Heartless morons. You Are all idiots if your not thinking this.

    23. Jeremy on Jan 27, 2011 5:40 pm

ACS i like Vampire Diaries, So don’t go their, they should put it back on Tuesday & Move One Tree Hill to Friday now that’s a Crap show.

    24. Kari on Jan 27, 2011 5:48 pm

Jeremy that probably why. I didn’t even think of the Arizona shooting and I am pretty sure the other posters didn’t either but you didn’t have to call us idiots or heartless morons. I am not heartless nor an idiot.

    25. PHOENIXZERO on Jan 27, 2011 5:48 pm

Okay it’s not, only a ratings ploy for VD (lol) and Nikita to compensate for their American Idol competition… Lame.

    26. PHOENIXZERO on Jan 27, 2011 5:52 pm

@Jeremy get a grip, if that was the case they would have heard something weeks ago. All they did was tweak the description and while I thought this might be the reason, it is not. It’s nothing but their wanting to try to get more viewers for those shows’ returns..

    27. Wanda on Jan 27, 2011 6:41 pm

BUMMER! What a let down! I don’t wanna wait another week! Why couldn’t they at least give an explanation…

    28. Liz on Jan 27, 2011 7:44 pm

I went to TV.com I don’t know how informitive it is but they said that the reason is that there is a college basketball game and a mayoral debate going on in Chicago that delayed The Vampire Diaries and Nikita that is why they were being rebroadcast on Friday so Chicago can get a chance to see them it stupid if you ask me.

    29. Susana on Jan 27, 2011 7:44 pm

I’ve never hated the CW as much as I do now. I can’t believe they are doing this to us fans. Do they not get they are losing fan base to the CW because of this. I am absolutely pissed that they keep doing this to us, they did this to us last year and yet again this year. I don’t understand it, they make us wait 2 months literally, and now we have to wait an extra week….AND they make this change a day before SV is on that’s bs to me.

It’s not fair because other fans got their shows back, the only ones who aren’t are SV and Supernatural, which are the 2 most hated shows by Dawn whats her face. I am so annoyed.

After SV is done…..I’m never watching any show on CW EVER.

    30. Maggie on Jan 27, 2011 7:51 pm

      CW, you suck.

    31. KristDeb on Jan 27, 2011 8:34 pm

Really? Really! This is rediculous. Way to lose viewers, CW.

    32. Equinsu Ocha on Jan 27, 2011 9:10 pm

Look…if it’s because of the Arizona shooting, that’s fine. But to the person who called everyone “heartless morons”….ummmm…calm down…not everyone reads spoilers and knows what’s happening and to be honest if it’s the reason, that happened weeks ago and they are just now changing it but changing other series’ around also? I think you’re giving the event a bit too much credit because it’s not just Smallville that’s getting changed around.

    33. AcAmenta on Jan 27, 2011 9:35 pm

      This is bulls***!!
I f***in’ hate The CW network, after Smallville and Supernatural are done;I done with The CW.

    34. juda on Jan 27, 2011 9:44 pm

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo, does the CW have any idea how LONG my work week is? From Friday to Friday feels like a month. ARGH!! Smallville is my one bright spot in the week. Ohh the driving, the paperwork, the clients, the homework I have to do between now and next Friday. I’m losing
      my
      will
      to
      live.

    35. Walker on Jan 27, 2011 9:53 pm

Al we can do is wait till 4 feb.

    38. Metropolis on Jan 28, 2011 12:45 am

another week without Clark, without Lois, Black Canary and without heroes (heroine Chloe? Maybe.). Oh .. wait another week, it is worth it, Smallville currently is very good at history! / romance! / action!

    39. Bates on Jan 28, 2011 3:20 am

CW thankyou very, very much. I love to watch Smallville and I love to watch Supernatural, both of them are brilliant shows. the Vampire Diaries is so, so bad and Nikita isn’t worth watching either. I going into hospital on Monday for major surgery after which I will be laid in a hospital bed for a very long time and I was highly looking forward to watching both of these shows before going in and being stuck with crap tv for weeks. Thankyou CW, thankyou very much for ruining that for me!

    40. Aaron on Jan 28, 2011 4:06 am

Hey, could it be that Smallville is being delayed due to the potent predictive programming of the show itself? In light of Ventura’s Conspiracy Theory show being yanked off the air by treasonous government coercion upon the TruTV network, that entire series has been squelched by Overt Tyranny. And considering how Smallville has been keeping up with the times is amazing in how quickly Metropolis has become a Police State reflecting our own. Especially with Big Sis Nopolatano’s (aka “Granny Goodness” – ha ha) new DHS “See Something, Say Something” Walmart Campaign going in Nationwide, not to mention Body Scanning Porno Machines with full service Sexual Molestation by low grade morons and convicted pedophiles. Smallville’s Revelation Of The Method could be a bit too overt for some people of the Treasonous Class and that is why they are “Cracking Down” on Free Speech in an effort minimize the “Awakening” of the people as to what is really going on around them. So, I wouldn’t completely dismiss the possibility that maybe Smallville is being a little to overtly controlled by outside forces attempting to “Monkey” with the program so that it better portrays their twisted perspective a bit more in line with a Government Propaganda Show such as Law & Order, CSI, Criminal Minds,Bones,or any other heavily government consulted show. All of which hardly even comes as close to true reality as the fantasy show Smallville itself does, which is what makes the show good. It’s really with the times and really relevant to reality.

    41. SapGoblin on Jan 28, 2011 6:30 am

CAN’T wait ’til I don’t have ANY reason to watch the CW any more!!!

    42. See Dubya on Jan 28, 2011 6:54 am

      cw, you’re a bunch of f-ing morons

    43. The SACK on Jan 28, 2011 6:58 am

Ive been waiting over a decade to see Clark fly… and this is how your people reward me. No wonder I only watch 1 hr of tv a week these days!

    44. Jonah on Jan 28, 2011 7:16 am

While they’re not saying it, I have long wondered if the episode in which Clark sees his mother SHOT on national television would be “re-worked,” in light of the Arizona massacre. I notice that the description for the Feb. 11 has now been changed from “shot” to “injured”…so maybe a re-shoot was needed.

    45. jabz on Jan 28, 2011 7:24 am

what the hell. i HATE YOU CW for ruining Smallville…

    46. VeryPissedOff on Jan 28, 2011 7:38 am

Idiots. Just Idiots. How in the frak you are going to say “Hey new episode Jan. 28 for the two greatest shows on CW and then pull some BS at the last minute!!! It’s unconstitutional that’s what it is…. Stop messing with us viewers and the put the damn shows back on!!! I swear after they are gone, if they don’t come up with some better shows, I’ll never watch CW again and that’s a promise!!!!

    47. JP on Jan 28, 2011 7:47 am

I only watch the CW for Smallville & Supernatural. But these changes are REALLY not fun.

    48. JP on Jan 28, 2011 7:54 am

I totally agree with Anura. Now is small’s final season, but when spn is over so am I with the CW PERIOD

    49. kevin on Jan 28, 2011 8:20 am

WTF, I waited for a month to watch those two shows and now you’re telling it got postponed. CW people should have some decency of informing us earlier.

    50. scottgia on Jan 28, 2011 8:37 am

Hey all…..maybe this is good thing….Maybe they are altering episodes for our betterment or maybe a big announcement is coming…..Welling for superman? Maybe, prolly not, but I can hope….

    51. kate on Jan 28, 2011 9:00 am

nikita isn’t even that good — it’s that horrible!!!!!!. I have waived 6 weeks of insanity waiting for Smallvilles supposed return tonight and now this?. The CW really needs to get their act together or they will be facing a MAJOR fan fall-out for ANY CW show next season. This seems to be happening more and more with anything anymore — HARRY POTTER 6 was pushed back eight months because Warner Bros. didn’t want it in November and then SV season 9 was screwed with last year.
If you advertise a certain date for something long enough then you should keep to that date and not think that you can screw around people and not have any consequences later.
The WB was better when it was just the WB, not this sh***y CW

    52. Marybeth on Jan 28, 2011 9:14 am

I would like an explanation from the network of why they did this? Everyone is speculating and I hate that they postponed this when everyone was looking forward to it the least CW could do would explain why they did this. It is totally stupid that they did this when the fans have been waiting so long for a new episode for the final season of the best show on TV Smallville

    53. AnnoyedwithTheCW on Jan 28, 2011 9:40 am

      i totally agree.
It’s like the persons who run these things work in a call center or something…
No accountability and completely wasteful with other’s time.

i don’t even watch the The CW, except for Smallville.

I know of at least 300-400 people in Portland, OR ALONE who, after this season is done, will never watch anything on the CW again.

      Ever.

      I’m kind of disappointed, obviously.
And yeah, the acting is kind of lackluster and the show has basically been X-Men meets Dawson’s Creek (it always has been…), but it is entertaining and the writing is good, too.

    54. AnnoyedwithTheCW on Jan 28, 2011 9:43 am

PS: I mean, honestly, I would’ve been easily appeased with a Saturday showing instead of a whole other week…?

      Come on.

The CW really is the worst network on the face of the planet. Well, that and Bravo.

      jk (about Bravo.)

    55. Snurfles on Jan 28, 2011 10:10 am

This is utterly ridiculous! To wait until TODAY to announce this delay? Completely unnacceptable! It’s astonishing that Smallville was able to survive 10 seasons on that stupid network for as hard as they’ve tried to kill it over the years. I will miss Smallville terribly when it’s gone but I will NOT miss the stupid antics of the CW. Just ridiclous.

    56. JDBentz on Jan 28, 2011 10:24 am

I first read this little bit of info around 2 a.m. and had gone to bed soon after, so I was hoping it was some sort of odd nightmare I was having. WTF!!!! VD and Nikita are good, but they’re not shows I’m dying to see an encore performance of; and I don’t mean any offense here, but both those shows are, for the most part, shows for the female persuasion more than the male! I like them, but I don’t feel insanity set in due to withdrawal. I’ve subsisted on watching the previous 11 episodes of this season the past week as we build up to ‘Collateral’, they release teaser information almost every week since the end of ‘Icarus’, and now they decide, ‘Let’s play JERK THE FANS for the heck of it! We’re the authorities here! They’re measly parasites leeching off our greatness!’
In some ways, I hope the rumors that Smallville will continue, albeit in a different form, are true, but its only one show of at least 3 from what I understood that is in the running for Ausiello’s recent statement.
If it is the one, I personally hope it moves from CW. This is BS, pure and simple.
Good thing I bought some good video games yesterday. I’m gonna need some very good stress relief now.
Oh, and one last thing: apparently Chloe’s going to be an anti-hero? I can think of a few people who’re going to be pissed. Myself, I’ve notived that she seems to be moving towards that storyline the past couple seasons. Something tells me Brainiac might have left at least a slight imprint on her.

    57. Brad on Jan 28, 2011 12:00 pm

I am so very, very pissed off!!! I would not even watch the cw if there was no Smallville or supernatural. They are the 2 shows carring that network for years. I swear when Smallville is over this year and if Supernatural dont get picked up for a 7th season I WILL NEVER WATCH THE CW AGAIN!!! They should have left it the WB anyways. Nikkita and Vampire diares SUCK bigtime!!! So does top odel and gossip girl and 90210. What a stupid net work!!!

    58. dnzrsy on Jan 28, 2011 12:19 pm

They should have announced it before.Smallville was supposed to return this week.Guess we’ll have to wait for another week for the new episode.

    59. Ike on Jan 28, 2011 12:26 pm

The CW WOULD do this. Nobody Likes them. Smallville would be twice as good as it is now if it was on any other broadcasting station. I’ll be excited to stop contributing to CW viewership once Smallville ends.

    60. Lee on Jan 28, 2011 12:47 pm

This is a good thing for me. The East Coast snowstorm killed my cable snd Internet connection, so I would have been unable to see it anyway.

    61. TIM on Jan 28, 2011 2:04 pm

cant wait to say goodbye to the CW forever…after the last Smallville..of course. The CW sucks ass water.

    62. Ugh. on Jan 28, 2011 2:30 pm

Yeah, this is ridiculous. Typical CW, not caring about Smallville.
I heard the reasoning behind moving SV and SPN was because they wanted to improve ratings for Nikita. I understand if you want to improve ratings for a show, but don’t move back the best shows on the CW. Wait until a Saturday or something.
I’m really disappointed that I have to wait a whole week now.

    63. PHOENIXZERO on Jan 28, 2011 2:34 pm

As said multiple times, this has nothing to do with the events in Tucson. It’s all about CW wanting to push their Twilight cash in and Nikita and “maximize” their viewership of those two shows due to the AI competition (pathetic reason) and the preempting of the shows in some big markets.

If the delay was to rework Beacon a bit we would have heard something about it awhile ago and they would have filmed the changes already instead of at the last minute. I think there wouldn’t be many complaints if this were the case though Supernatural being delayed too would still be wonky. But it isn’t, it is certainly a slight at Smallville and Supernatural viewers.

    64. PHOENIXZERO on Jan 28, 2011 2:40 pm

@Ike To be honest, if Smallville was on any other broadcast network, with the ratings it gets, even during the peak years, it would have been canned a long time ago, they might have been a little higher due to wider availability but still it would certainly not made it to season ten. Time Warner owning a big stake in the network certainly didn’t hurt things either.

    65. William Porter on Jan 28, 2011 2:58 pm

This Sucks! CW if you want me to even try watching whatever is replacing Smallville next season, cut the crap!

    66. cdv on Jan 28, 2011 3:34 pm

I can’t believe we have to wait a total of 8 weeks now to watch a new episode of Smallville. It doesn’t make sense to rerun the new Vampire Diaries after we just saw it last night. There are so many of us who have been waiting to see Smallville. Then they’re going to rerun Icarus episode on Wednesday? Didn’t they just rerun that last week? Show a different episode! I am not happy, just who is the lame brain that came up with this at the last minute???

    67. erb on Jan 28, 2011 4:20 pm

I am done!!! You guys win!!! You at the CW were trying to DECREASE viewership! At last i got it! My family will not watch anymore.
One more thing..even fox tries to get more viewers.

    68. irene on Jan 28, 2011 4:33 pm

what the hell?? Is there a reason they did this? I love Smallville but the CW sucks. I can’t believe I was looking forward to this all week and then at 7:30, 30 minutes before I was about to turn on the TV I read THIS?

    69. sean on Jan 28, 2011 4:51 pm

CW January 28th is my birthday, I’ve been able to watch smallville on my birthday for ten years! TEN YEARS! Now you do this? Have you ever given a kid a present on his birthdaay and then smashed it in his face… Yeah you have. But like a battered house wife I will return next week thinking, “you know it wont be that bad.”

    70. BabyFace(S) on Jan 28, 2011 4:54 pm

OK… you know what would be great…??? If someone would leak the episode online before the CW airs the episode on Feb 4th…. that way they will have an amazing drop on their viewer ship… i wish someone would… i can wait until Smallville is over (That way i would not even go any where near the CW ever again)…

P.S.: Lets start a petition on FB to get them to pass it tomorrow… that might work…

    71. Jake on Jan 28, 2011 5:07 pm

UGHH!!! I was all ready to watch waiting for it to start and then I see vampires and wolves on the tv! Why wait till the last minute?!

    72. Jenny on Jan 28, 2011 5:08 pm

This should not legally be allowed. People plan evenings around these nights. Why build everyone up and then shoot them down. You people have way to much power, and you messed with the wrong fan group. Very disapointed in the CW. You never seem to stick to the game plan at hand. Shame on you.

    73. SoftTouch on Jan 28, 2011 5:09 pm

OK this Really Ticks Me Off!!!!! I’ve been waiting and waiting to see the new Smallville. I turn on the TV and what’s on? Vampires… Smallville is the ONLY Reason I watch the CW (like many others have said here). Once Smallville is over – no more CW on my TV!

    74. Mikey83 on Jan 28, 2011 5:11 pm

That is total bullcrap.. I was so waiting for smallville to show tonight! Good job CW. This is the only time I tune into the CW is for the best show ever Smallville!

    75. BigCed on Jan 28, 2011 5:12 pm

At least most of you found out this morning. I JUST FOUND OUT at 7pm when I saw Vampire Diaries. I am very disappointed because I have waited 6 frickin weeks and was heading to Dallas for Superbowl weekend next weekend.

Thanks CW. If it wasn’t for Smallville (and re-runs of How I met Your Mother and Two and A Half Men) I wouldn’t even waste my time.

    76. JamJulLison on Jan 28, 2011 5:13 pm

This pisses me off. I have been waiting and waiting for the new episode of Smallville. They even advirtised last night it would be on tonight and then they pull this shit. It’s not right. It’s false advirtizing which is illegal.

    77. ryan on Jan 28, 2011 5:13 pm

everytime we wait and wait for smallville to return and get the shaft. well big bad cw when u cut smallville next season. all those fat wallet out there are gonna get lighter than air so, go ahead and delay SV and SPN lol. we all will have the last laugh when the whole network goes down like a sinking ship. IT ain’t no damn wonder Michael Rosembulm won’t come back.

    78. Royally PO'd on Jan 28, 2011 5:14 pm

I agree that the “great” CW should have at least had the courtesy to let the viewers know this BEFORE the air date! God knows they love to replay their dumb soap opera commercials over and over again. They could have at least had the announcer say all week long that “Smallville will be back Feb 4th meanwhile…da da da da FREAKIN da”!!!

    79. Dominic J. Sabol on Jan 28, 2011 5:14 pm

WTF, I look forward to this since the last episode, and the CW does this??????? Why don’t you just rip my heart out and dangle it in front of me. It’s not bad enough your ending the show, and now one knows if your gonna do a spin off (that would be freaking awesome). Come on CW are you trying to piss off people because you achieved it. Get Michael Rosembaum back for a few episodes and i’ll forgive your network for this screw job.

    80. kdm on Jan 28, 2011 5:15 pm

I go to watch Smallville and instead see something about vampires? I don’t watch nor will I ever watch Vampire Diaries. I have watched Smallville since it began and have been waiting for the newest episode. My TiVo schedule says Smallville is on and is recording it. But obviously it wasn’t what I expected. Only through Googling this did I find out why it isn’t on. This is absolutely ludicrous and crass on the part of the CW.

I have been getting my hopes up all day to watch the return of Smallville. It was the only thing I was looking forward to today.

And I didn’t even find out it was canceled until NOW.
They gave no reason, barely any warning, and didn’t even change the channel info to Vampire Diaries.

Screw you, CW. Love your shoes. Apparently, terrible management.

    83. Renny on Jan 28, 2011 5:17 pm

What a way to ruin my night. Saw the commercial for smallville and got all excited, but see some vampire crap on instead. CW execs, have you been doing too many drugs or pros??? Anyone of us can run a network better than you clowns are doing. All of you tv execs must go to the same school, cause all of you do stupid stuff like this all the time!! Once smallville’s finale is over, so are you in my eyes. I live supernatural, but haven’t kept up w/ it. YOu will probably even cancel that as well. When you were the WB, you were good, now you’re total crap. Hope your network goes down the drain!! Worthless, all of you!!

    90. JamJulLison on Jan 28, 2011 5:28 pm

I just sent them a nice little complaint via their website. Here it is if you all want to see it.

What the hell you are you thinking not showing Smallville tonight. You spend all this time adverting it for tonight, including last night, and you then you suddenly decide to show Vampire Diaries. You just showed it last night. We don’t need to see an encore of it the next day. Especially when everyone was expecting Smallville. If you really felt it was so important to show it then show it on Monday or something. What you did was false advertising which is illegal. So why don’t you pull your heads out of your asses and actually do your damn jobs and show a show when you advertise it to be on.

    91. NIK on Jan 28, 2011 5:28 pm

This is complete crap. I have been waiting for Smallville for along time now. Everyone at work has been waiting for it too. To see it replaced with some homo erotic kiddie vamp cramp…… CW FAIL

    92. mcnelly on Jan 28, 2011 5:29 pm

I see I’m not alone in my distress tonight … I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever! What are we to do? The CW is taking advantage of us fans, trying to promote shows they hope will be airing next year, knowing that Smallville won’t, and all at our expense. But we’re fans, and they know we’ll be back next week anyway. Not fair!!!

    93. Raven on Jan 28, 2011 5:31 pm

Have to say I am now pissed off I bothered watching Vampire diaries last night. Had I known that it would be on again tonight I wouldnt have bothered. You know some of us don’t make Friday night plans They really have nerve not caring how last minute schedule changes affect people. I refused a dinner date to be home. When Smallville is gone CW will be gone from my life too. They should have learned that the watchers pay their salaries and showing complete disregard for them has consequences.

    94. Rick on Jan 28, 2011 5:38 pm

I posted on my facebook that Smallville the final season was on tonight! I posted youtube spoilers on my page. Then at 8, It’s Vampire Diaries? WTF? I have been waiting forever for this season to start! It is bad enough it is the final season without this extra delay. I would like to know why the delay. Smallville is the best show on TV, and certianly the best CW show. This show is their flagship. People are upset enough that it is the final season. Why tortue the fans like this?

    95. csharp on Jan 28, 2011 5:43 pm

The cw is RE-TAR-DED! You know, tom welling and crew should pitch their show to a bigger and better network after their time on that bubble gum network. There certainly are enough(I would think )viewers.

    96. Mark on Jan 28, 2011 5:47 pm

I agree with everybody. This is total BS. They get you all excited for tonight & then pull this crap. I was so looking forward to tonight & then they pull the rug right out from under you!!

    97. Raven on Jan 28, 2011 5:48 pm

I just gave feedback on the CW website. I suggest if we really want them to know how annoyed we are everyone posting here post there also. The more bad feedback they get the more they will realize their consumers opinions count

    98. Angela on Jan 28, 2011 5:51 pm

I am through with the CW. I have been ticked off by the overwhelming abundance of commercials they always cram into the hour of a program (25 minutes of show, 35 minutes of commercials) but this is it. I am DONE with the CW after Smallville is over. They are a terrible network anyway.

    99. CindyB on Jan 28, 2011 5:52 pm

As much as I will miss Smallville, I finally see a bit of goodness reguarding the end of the show…I will never have to watch the CW/WNAB, with its audio/visual farts, ever again. I didn’t think any network could disappoint me more than UPN, but The CW managed it.

    100. Angela on Jan 28, 2011 5:53 pm

Ditto Raven !!! I just provided feedback as well

    101. Dissatisfied on Jan 28, 2011 5:57 pm

I think this shows absolute disregard for for fans period. So many statements have been on point. 2 of mf my favorite shows are on the CW. Smallville being #1 from the start. Once this is over I will not be watching your network again and I will discourage anyone I can from watching any show on your network because the wY you treat your fans. You move show days, times, like it is a circus!!! Who has time to keep up with that. We are forced to watch all the marketing you want to show our fan base but you don’t deliver on the programing. Shame on you!!!

    102. P.O. with CW on Jan 28, 2011 6:01 pm

WTH? Does it makes sense to show Vampire Diaries and Nikita 2 nights in a row? How can they bait us w/ advertising Smallville just last night and then just switch to some teen vamp angst stupid show. Forget you CW.

    103. dcfan on Jan 28, 2011 6:04 pm

i gotta say way to go you idiots. they think maybe we will buy into this Vampire Diaries crap after smallville. let me tell you something. smallville was absolutely great, and supernatural made me interested by riding thier coat tales. but as for the rest of this network. it its all trash. from gossip whores, to jerry springer. i promise u this, once smallville is gone. i will auto block your channel from my cable, so that u dont acidentally recieve anything from my veiwership…..

    104. Vincent on Jan 28, 2011 6:04 pm

I have to say since that writers strike a couple years ago tv has not been the same. There are countless shows I don’t even watch anymore because the breaks are so long, and waiting until next week is just dumb. I agree with most, all I watch on CW is Smallville and Supernatural. Once those are gone I’m taking CW off my channels so I won’t ever stop there again and accidentally boost a Neilson them.
Someone previously said that Smallville would be twice as good if it where on another network and I totally agree.

I normally wouldn’t even comment on this if I didn’t come home from a bad 12 hr shift, all excited to escape reality! And BANG no smallville on my DVR.

    105. Slednut on Jan 28, 2011 6:15 pm

Huge fan of Smallville but gave up on it and the CW two weeks ago when everyone else was airing new episodes and they were not. Thought maybe I would just wait until the final season came out on disc…..seeing how long it takes them to air the freakin thing it probably won’t come out for a year or two…..so i guess the final episode of smallville for me was icarus!

    106. Rick Rant on Jan 28, 2011 6:18 pm

If I was Superman, I would fly to the CW buildings and pick them all up and fly them to the moon. Set them all there as a monument to just being mean. This makes no sense delaying the show for another week. People are going to hate The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural forever now. And there isnt anything else the CW has to offer. Maybe they can get the actors from Kyle xy to continue that show. That was a rip off when they cancelled it suddenly on the Family channel. I mean, these tv stations cancelled shows like The Dead Zone with no ending, and the 4400 or w/e, and so many others without warning. I am afraid to invest my time in any show anymore because I cant rely on it being on or it being cancelled. I mean how do they cancel shows that are good and afford to keep their really bad shows on? They start a show then cancel it when it gets interesting. Yet they can afford to keep these redicuous shows on. AND THEY GET A HIT SHOW AND SCREW WITH THE FANS? Nakita will be another one I will hate now also. But who watches that anyway? Vampire Diaries arent that bad but I couldnt name any CW show I like other than reruns of two and a half men. The CW would have better ratings making it the Smallville channel and playing all the seasons 24 hours a day..lol watch how the CW goes down the tubes after the last episode of Smallville. I bet they try to make a spin off of supergirl or Green Arrow or Aquaman or something. They cant get Batman becuase of some legality right now, that is why Batman was never on Smallville. So they got The Green Arrow, who basically has the same gadgets and no super power like batman. Lame. Hawkman would have been a good show if they didnt have him killed by some old man after all those years of fighting super villians.. and he had super powers. Where do they get off killing Hawkman with some old nazi guy? Being a Nazi doesnt give an old man super villian powers strong enough to beat Hawkman. I think the CW really screwed up.

    107. Lyco on Jan 28, 2011 6:26 pm

I think this is ridiculous. It really seems to have become tradition to have completely random and extended breaks in illogical places of TV Shows. Three off the top of my head at the moment being Smallville, Desperate Housewives and Futurama.

And now, not only have we had a month + long break with Smallville we also get a last minute “oh and by the way, we decided you should wait a bit longer”.

It really is not logical from a rating point of view, it can’t be good to leave extended periods of time between episodes of a show, even when the intriuge in the plot is at a high. People have very short memories and it’s very easy to completely forget a show is running and then not be particularly interested in watching it when it returns, as Slednut shows.

    108. Lyco on Jan 28, 2011 6:29 pm

Oh and they could still do a Hawkman show, he get’s continously reincarnated remember? :P

    109. romjockey on Jan 28, 2011 6:51 pm

I agree with you all this was sooo STUPID of cw to delay a new episode of smallville after a much too long break just to air a RE RUN of Vampire Diaries now that’s a slap in smallvilles face, there ratings will plummet and as well they should.

    110. Crystal on Jan 28, 2011 7:14 pm

This is rediculous…a long break… the fans are patient enough and without warning they delay supernatural another week?? How does this make sense? They were airing commercials yesterday for Supernatural starting January 28th. All for a show that supernaural fans aren’t going to be interested in. And whats with the long wierd breaks in the middle of the show? If I didn’t love Supernatural as much as I do, I would just forget it all together and move on.

    111. Clark on Jan 28, 2011 7:31 pm

What a joke. Get your shit together CW.

    112. boycott on Jan 28, 2011 7:40 pm

I totally agree with everyone, especially Rick Rant that everyone will hate Vampire Diary’s and Nikkita because of the crap CW is pulling, and that CW will go down the tubes after Smallville goes off the air. Why do they advertise that it is going to be aired even up until the time it is supposed to air, why don’t they just tell you ahead of time that they are going to postpone it? I will probably stop watching CW after this season of Smallville is done. I might try to keep watching Supernatural, but if they keep up with their idiotic illogical corporate B.S. I will stop watching all together. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!! dang it C.W.! what is wrong w/you guys! i know! telling us @ the last minute that your delaying the new episodes of “smallville” and “supernatural” for another week?! CRAP!!! why tell us now?! i too agree w/ rick rant and boycott, SCREW YOU “VAMPIRE DIARIES” AND “NIKITA”!!! you know, if this was still “the w.b. network” we wouldn’t have this problem. by the way, i believe this is gonna be the 1st time that the second half of a season of “smallville” doesn’t start in january. way to go, c.w.! it’s bad enough that we had to wait a month and a half for new episodes of the two shows that i ever care about and watch, now you make us wait another 7 days?! SCREW IT!!!!

    114. hate the cw on Jan 28, 2011 8:05 pm

I hope people responsible for this get fired. In this economy they will be unemployed for years.

    115. Dave on Jan 28, 2011 8:48 pm

I think that this is crap as well. I am a life long smallville and supernatural watcher. When then pull this crap and move them up a week with no notice prior to airing, that pisses me off. I will always be a loyal fan to both shows, but after smallville finishes and supernatural runs it’s course, I will no longer be a cw watcher. When your trying to draw viewers to a network, you don’t screw with viewer drawing programs, ya morons.

    116. malice on Jan 28, 2011 10:43 pm

this is rediculous. just because another show is on (definately not one worth pushing a GREAT show for) doesnt mean the scheduled show should be cancelled. House is cancelled all the time for other stupid shows. Supernatural does not need to be cancelled for a show about some chick. if a show is on then it should be on. no show should be pushed for another. commercials shouldnt even be during shows, if people really wanted to watch them they would stay and watch them after the show ended. you should not inturupt the show for a tampon commercial. and also, I’m not sure if its anywhere else, but for our shows that are on once a week, they get inturupted by an “EAS” so when that inturupts our shows from recording, we never get to know what happened in that 2 minutes we missed. its not an actual emergency and we all know what that would look like so its not neccesary to keep pissing us off. QUIT.
      STOP RUINING OUR TV SHOWS!
      FIX OUR T.V. PROGRAMMING.
GIVE US WHAT WE PAY FOR!!!

    117. Anti CW on Jan 29, 2011 2:13 am

I can’t believe it! I waited VERY patiently for a month and a half for Smallville to comeback to TV on January 28th, even though these mid season breaks are hard to cope with, but having all of those holiday specials pre-empting my favorite show are worse. So I accepted the scheduled holiday season break, and I waited. I DID MY PART! Why didn’t you??? You pushed back our favorite shows a week for a REPEAT of some OTHER shows? How could you do this to the fans. What were you thinking? And then you decided to do this at the last minute??? What the hell CW! BAD MOVE! When Smallville ends this summer, I will no longer be watching the CW! I don’t care what programs you will be showing!

    118. Robrat on Jan 29, 2011 4:25 am

i have to say your all being ridiculous, im a huge fan of smallville but im not sad enough to let another week break annoy me surely u can occupy another week with your life without it revolving around whats on the telly, get over it it is one more week, not like the worlds going to end.

    119. Uncle Skip on Jan 29, 2011 4:44 am

I do not mind so much this whole pushing the start of the second half of the season by a week. Reading some of these comments, you’d think this month off is some kind of punishment… but reality is, there has always been a long winter break for Smallville… many complain that there were new episodes of other shows on for the past few weeks and that they are pissed that Smallville has been in reruns… what they fail to remember is that Smallville remains mostly all new up to the end of the season where many of these other shows have weeks off in between the run up to a season finale.

What I did not like about this weeks schedule changes is that there was no indication at the start of tonight’s switch that the New Smallville will be seen next week. I watched my DVR in fast forward… it was not until almost 20 minutes into a show I do not care for that there was a promo for next week’s Smallville.

Guess the network gets some DVR credit for a show they are obviously trying to push. Sorry WB… Vampire diaries not my thing.

    120. Aceman on Jan 29, 2011 6:51 am

I am also a dedicated Smallville & SuperNatural fan. I own both series on DVD, and will buy this season on DVD when they come out.
But I have to agree with all above. When Smallville & SuperNatural are done on the CW, they will NOT receive another rating point from me. I feel that TVD and Nakita are terrible shows anyway, tried watching, very boring IMO. And lets not forget about last season’s Smallville premiere episode (beginning season 10) was NOT aired in the CNY area, they were broadcasting a (not playoff game) Yankee game instead !! Are you for real ?? Promote the final 10th season of Smallville, and then broadcast the Yankees baseball game. Way to go CW…..
I promise to not watch this network when they get rid of their best 2 shows…..another retarded move. Being so stupid, how are they still in business ??

    121. superwolf13 on Jan 29, 2011 8:58 am

Well…I about went outta my mind when I turned on my tv and no Smallville or Supernatural..heres my prediction of the CW after Smallville ends…Tyra will buy out the network and turn it into Model tv and her talkshow will be on when Americas top model isn’t…and somewhere Lex will be laughing like Dr. Evil and I will spend the rest of my life trying to forget there even was a CW network..

    122. Charlie559 on Jan 29, 2011 9:14 am

i agree smallville is my favorite show and they delay it after i been waiting all this time. smallville ends im just gonna watch supernatural online. only way ill still watch the cw is if they bring smallville back for one more season

    123. Raven on Jan 29, 2011 9:50 am

To Robrat: I agree, the world is not going to end. BUT. The Vampire Diaries and Nikita play or Thursday night. Why would people want to watch the same episodes 2 nights in a row? And its been about 2 months since the last Smallville and Supernatural. People have been waiting! The two shows left on MAJOR cliffhanger. So, for some people, another can be a long time. Some people had a whole evening planned for the return of these shows. If you’re not as excited, then thats youre problem. But you should’nt assume that everyones life revolves around TV.

    124. Luvsmalvil4evr on Jan 29, 2011 10:07 am

So yes was disappointed that my favorite shows were delayed another week but I came to terms with it. I’ve been reading some of the responses and a lot of people are really angry. I’ve also been reading overviews for the upcoming episodes and my guess is that they need more time to make the finale really freaking awesome. Smallville is NOT being cancelled for those of u who think it is. It is TOM WELLING and the writers who ate finished with the show. He doesn’t want to keep playing the same damn character his whole life and it’s getting to the point where superman wears the suit and Tom welling already had a no tights no flights policy so that’s why it’s ending at season 10. don’t get discouraged, supernatural is still on it gets great ratings and won’t end unless they don’t have a budget or the actors are done with it. So hearts go out to all Smallville and Supernatural fans.

    125. Masshuu il Malacandra on Jan 29, 2011 10:56 am

I e-mailed my protest and complaint directly to CW. Complaining here isn’t going to do a thing. Smallville is the only show I watch on CW and once it’s over, it’s over! No more CW.

    126. Jim D'Amario on Jan 29, 2011 11:00 am

I am not a True Blood fan and they never should have made a remake of Alias recasting Jennifer Garner…oh! I mean Vampire Diaries and Nikita…how these shows are still on is beyond me. I agree with a prior reply, due to weather I was not home for almost 20 HOURS! The only thing that made my day seem do-able was that Smallville and Supernatural was on tonight. DVR even lied to me stating they recorded, when I hit play I almost threw the remote. To not even change the guide settings was wrong!!! Then, to not even explain what happen!?!?!. Just say, “here is when it’s on”. Screw you CW!! I’m gone at finale of Smallville and Supernatural!

    127. Lois Lane on Jan 29, 2011 12:04 pm

This is not the first time smallville has been given the shaft by the cw. Around this time last year they messed up the scheduling for season 9’s warrior and the absolute justice movie. This treatment happening again shows that the cw never respected smallville and are taking advantage of the loyal fans.

    128. Dondi on Jan 29, 2011 3:20 pm

Shameful behavour! Are you guys on LSD? Did you retire everyone with marketing brains and bring in the new broom, with no brains? The cost too the CW network will be revenge after Smallvile ends, I will never watch your network agin! If you think we viewers are stupid guess again. I still refuse Exxon gasoline or BP! There are those souls in this country that have real values, obliviosly CW doesnt! Good bye idiots!

    129. Des on Jan 29, 2011 4:40 pm

This delay has nothing to do with the finale. Almost all the rest of the episodes are already done! There is no valid reason to push this week’s return back…other than a slick try to push off two mediocre shows, on unwilling viewers.

Would I have cared if we had to wait another week, if they had NOT said the 28th was a new episode? Not at all…but they’ve been showing the promos up until the 27th!

I have tuned in for new episodes of Smallville since the beginning…when the show ends, so does the CW.

    130. Dfaust on Jan 29, 2011 5:13 pm

Green arrow and batman are alot alike except batman knows judo and is smart enough to wear bullet proof armor. Batman also doesn’t have super powers. Both parents died suddenly and made them want to fight crime. The guy who played Green Arrow also shot a pilot for Aquaman that wasn’t a spin off and totally not related to smallville. How stupid is that. Now they want to make a Justice League movie with all different people.

    131. Dfaust on Jan 29, 2011 5:20 pm

I saw Smallville on my DVR and waited to play it so I wouldn’t have to wait a whole week til the next episode and just to my horror hit play 5 minutes ago and some dumb ass vampires can come out during the day show was on. I’m not doing to start a new show mid season after a long break because I won’t know the plot.. Not sure of the station but my two new favorite shows are Hawaii Five – O and Defenders and you don’t need to follow a plot line.

    132. promi on Jan 29, 2011 5:30 pm

      WHAT THE FRIGGING FUDGE?
I am fuming at the moment because of the fact that all us fans have been waiting for Smallville for a good few weeks and have been sorely deceived by a trashy vampire whore show and some show that no one watches. I agree with people who say that all shows by the CW nowadays are teentrash apart from Smallville and Supernatural. Plus, all that advertisement gone to waste :(
Thank God I can cut myself off from CW after the series finale…I hate all the other shows they make.

    133. Robrat on Jan 29, 2011 5:52 pm

it makes me LOL how ur all overreacting i mean “the CW is dead to me” lol doubt they really care what you think as an individual i mean they will still get the ratings they need with or without smallville/supernatural, cos ther are many who like ther shows. now live in reality please there are bigger issues out their than 1 sodding last minute delay, ur still gona watch the damn show when its on so there is really no problem; if ur that sad u cant find sumat else to do on a friday night then fine but please stop overreacting. thank you.

    134. Tim on Jan 29, 2011 7:03 pm

This network sucks. Smallvile and Supernatural are the “ONLY” two good shows on this network. Other than that there’s no reason to even turn to this channel. After Smallville and Supernatural… goodbye cw.

    135. RobStack on Jan 29, 2011 7:35 pm

The CW is a joke , when did they make this change .
I swear that during last week sometime i saw them run the trailer for Ep 12 saying next week .
I could be wrong but they should have at least gave notice instead of everyone Rushing home or PVRing for nothing .
I bet there are tons of people searching the net like I was hoping
it was only there local station .
Now I gotta wait a week THANKS CW !!
I bet Space or SunTv in Canada would have played it but CW made them pull it off there listing too .
CW will get no veiwing from me after Smallville and Supernatural are gone .

    136. Luther Toyman on Jan 29, 2011 8:14 pm

I have a hard time believing that this was a planned bait and switch. It would take someone with absolute contempt for their viewers to concieve of such a thing.

But, since no other explanation has been offered, it may be true.

I did, in fact, watch about 10 minutes of the vampire thing. I LOATHED it, and will not watch another episode.

I thought that both of the La Femme Nikita movies were excellent, so I checked out the series. I only got through a 10 minutes of that one too. I found a documentary on bread-making that had a more coherent plot, and superior production values.

    137. Jephael on Jan 30, 2011 7:59 am

My college pal and I were both really ticked off Friday night to see CW shamefully pull the plug on Smallville just for some crappy vampire show. I blame all the Twilight obsessed tweens out there who watch this garbage!

    138. Dfaust on Jan 30, 2011 9:04 am

I was unhappy too but it’s not CW’s fault that smallville is ending. Everyone in the show is burned out on it that’s why we may not even see the old lex come back.. The whole clone thing is stupid. It would have been better if it was the clone that Green Arrow killed. I won’t watch a justice league movie unless it has the smallville cast.

    139. Janey on Jan 30, 2011 10:55 am

I agree that this is a desperate attempt on cw’s part to gain/retain viewers… I watch vampire diaries sometimes, but my real passion is Smallville. So desperate for viewers for VD and Nikita, well you just lost me… I BOYCOT Thursday night, hell I boycot all nights except FRIDAYs!!!!! Once Smallville is done, CW is officially off my list!!!!!!

    140. juda on Jan 30, 2011 4:22 pm

Well, if this postponment was because of the need to re-work assignation attempt on Martha Kent scene, then I applaud the shows producers (no doubt it was Tom Welling because that’s the kind of classy guy I imagine him to be)for making that decision. However I was toooooo disappointed to stay home on a Friday evening with no Smallville and went out and took a Salsa Class, so the evening was not a total loss. Adjust people and move on.

    141. Viceroy on Jan 31, 2011 9:17 pm

Wow, postpone Smallville and Supernatural to show reruns of “last nights” shows because you are afraid of losing viewership to American Idol (thursday) and AFTER making that decision to have the shows’ rating stay EXACTLY the same as normal opposite AI AND piss off most of the regular viewing audience Friday night because your fear was apparently unfounded…well there is only one thing I can think of to sum that up…*insert dumfounded silence followed by standing and clapping sarcastically*

    142. Smallville fan on Feb 1, 2011 7:01 am

You people need to get a life. The CW still has a lot of good shows and lots of fans for them shows. They don’t need you. WE have no idea why they postponed Smallville for another week. Don’t assume it was to mess with us. I’ve been watching the show since the very beginning and will be sad to see it go,but after ten seasons, it’s about run it’s course. And there is nothing else on the CW that interests me. But oh well. I’ll live.

    143. Ka-EL on Feb 2, 2011 5:59 pm

Not that these shows are the Super Bowl. However, they have tremendously large under-rated fan bases. However, to the dude who dimissed the delay… What if Sunday a Billy Graham revival came on instead of the Super Bowl? All hades would break out! We want what we want regardless of its size and scope. Every week over 10 million people watch Smallville. Instead of disappointing us fans… CW execs put your effort into lobbying Entertainment Tonight for more fanfare for Smallville’s final season. I am through your network after 10 great years of loyalty. Hail to Smallville… TVs longest non-cartoon sci-fi fantasy program. By the way-Isn’t this the 100th incarnation of some sort of Nikita show? Good Luck with that!

    144. Tony on Feb 2, 2011 6:38 pm

I dont care if the Superbowl comes on or not anymore. These atheletes are overpaid, steroided, all for me crybabies. They ruined sports for me. Most of them are thugs anyhow, and overhyped. they’re sure not any kind of role models for anyone.Sure, its a big media event, but it’s blown way out of proportion to it’s importance, which is about nil.But you’ll still get all the idiots who’ll pay thousands of dollars to attend a mediocre athletic event. To each thier own I guess.

    145. Ka-EL on Feb 2, 2011 7:28 pm

Dude! It was an analogy. Meant evoke the thought… “Gee, you’re right”! If they advertised up until Saturday and then Sunday night no Superbowl people would be up in arms.
