Only thing I don’t care for about this cover is it looks too “standard” Superman instead of ‘Smallville’, other than the costume design.
      .
Looks like they’re letting new artists get cover work by designing for this series.

    2. Ely on Apr 9, 2012 7:08 pm

Okay… That looks NOTHING like Tom Welling or Erica Durance!

And yeah, I see your point, Cat Staggs did a much better job with the other covers.

This cover doesn’t feel like Smallville to me, I think the artists should have gone to Google or whatever and looked up how these actors look, why else would I buy this comic – I’m sorry but it looks just too generic for me, like a regular Superman comic book.

Only the future can tell, just will have to wait and see when I flip the pages of issue 1 to see if it’ll remind me of the show at all.

    3. chase on Apr 9, 2012 7:11 pm

I hope the interiors look more like the show characters. I dont need photo like but closer than the above.

    4. chase on Apr 9, 2012 7:13 pm

Oh ely we where typing at the same time. glad i am not the only one.

    5. Maddie on Apr 9, 2012 7:15 pm

That covers looks NOTHING like Tom and Erica. WTH? Don’t call it Smallville S11 if it just looks like another Superman comic.

    6. Natalie on Apr 9, 2012 10:14 pm

      Very disappointed with the cover.
I wish Cat Staggs had done it.
As others have said above, looks like just another Supes cover, not a SV one.
Still, hoping the story line will at least make-up for it in a small way.

    7. peggu on Apr 10, 2012 4:55 am

one of the things about this comic book that I was really looking forward to was the artwork looking like the actors. the first two covers looked awesome; they looked just like tom and michael, but I’m not sold on this one. superman looks too mean in this cover I think.

that aside, I’m very excited about reading it! :D

    8. jack on Apr 10, 2012 2:07 pm

yeah, let’s just hope the comics are worth reading :P

perez has the ability.some of his stuff is cartoony, while some his other stuff blows you out of the water.

    10. Guy Persons on Apr 15, 2012 6:43 am

Lois looks a little bit like Erica, but that looks nothing like Tom. I agree with the other people commenting, it looks like any other superman comic. I did, however, read the first chapter of issue one, and it was very satisfying. It did feel like the show, and they drew the characters to the likeness of the actors and actresses.

    11. Holly on Apr 15, 2012 2:36 pm

Like everyone else is saying… that looks NOTHING like Tom Welling. Geez, how POINTLESS!!

Just another SUPERMAN comic… not Smallville.

    12. David on Apr 21, 2012 6:26 am

Who cares if it doesnt look like Welling?

I’d rather take this Superman comic over the new 52 anyday

    13. Frog on Jun 25, 2012 4:58 am

I know it’s been said a billion times, but I’m here to say it a billion and one times. That isn’t Tom Welling as Super Man and that isn’t Erica Durance as Lois Lane. Without them in this comic it truly is just another Super Man comic, and another way that seems like they just want to make more money… Highly disappointed, but I loved the first two. Get with the program artists….
