Deadline is reporting today that the Spider-Man universe series Silk: Spider Society is no longer moving forward at Amazon Prime Video. The character of Cindy Moon a.k.a. Silk was created for Marvel Comics by writer Dan Slott and artist Humberto Ramos; the show was going to be run by The Walking Dead’s Angela Kang who has an overall deal at Amazon MGM Studios.

It is said that the decision to pass was made a few days ago, and Amazon will be doing the live-action Noir based on Spider-Man Noir. The Deadline piece also notes that the rights to Silk have reverted to Sony Pictures Television, who may pitch the series to other buyers. It might be a tough sell, though, as the “spider society” of Madame Web was so poorly received at the box office earlier this year. The Deadline piece also noted that Silk went through at least three iterations, with one version not relying so heavily on the Cindy Moon character.
