TV Line has revealed that another role in the ABC pilot based on Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. has now been cast.
Brett Dalton (Army Wives, Blue Bloods) will be playing “Agent Grant Ward,” one of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s “rising stars.” He’s described as highly skilled, precise, and cool under fire, but he’s also said to not be so proficient with people skills.
The S.H.I.E.L.D.pilot is expected to have executive producer Joss Whedon also directing. Whedon also co-wrote the pilot with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, who will also be executive producers. Dalton joins Clark Gregg, Ming-Na, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Iain De Castecker. Filming will happen in early 2013 for a hopeful spot on ABC’s Fall 2013 schedule.
Interesting trivia: Dalton has performed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” which we all know to be a Whedon favorite.
