Two more actors have joined the Whedon-produced S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot for ABC, in news first reported by THR.
Elizabeth Henstridge, who appeared in last year’s not-picked-up pilot Shelter for The CW, has been cast as Agent Gemma Simmons, who is described as a “science whiz,” and the very difficult to spell Iain De Caestecker (The Fades) will be playing Xander Topher Leo Fitz, a tech guru. Both of these characters are said to be spending a lot of time together, 
which also means they’ll be bickering a lot.
S.H.I.E.L.D. will be shooting early next year for a hopeful spot on ABC’s Fall 2013 schedule. Joss Whedon may be directing if timing permits.
