In a press release touting what’s coming up for ABC Family’s future to tie in with ABC Family’s Upfront presentations, the cable channel also made an announcement concerning the director of the pilot episode of their Mortal Instruments adaptation, Shadowhunters.
The director was revealed as McG, as seen below, where a general timeframe for the show’s premiere was also announced.
McG at Wonderland Sound & Vision (“Charlie’s Angels,” “The O.C.,” “Supernatural,” “Chuck,” and “Kevin From Work”) will direct the first episode of “Shadowhunters” The Mortal Instruments epic saga, based on the best-selling book series by Cassandra Clare. The series will begin production in May and join the previously announced scripted drama “Recovery Road” when they premiere in early 2016.
Shadowhunters is one of several projects ABC Family has in the works, including more of their classic favorites mixed with new series like Stitchers.
