Sandman breakout Mason Alexander Park who also currently stars as Dr. Ian Wright on Quantum Leap has announced that they will be doing a series of intimate “Endless Nights” live concerts inspired by the beloved Neil Gaiman series. On The Sandman TV adaptation, Park portrayed Desire.
The performances will be happening in a limited fashion at The Sun Rose in West Hollywood, CA on October 22, 23, 29, and 30. Here are some additional details from the press release; tickets can be purchased here.
Arriving just in time for Halloween, “Endless Nights” will be a macabre evening of music, dreams and desires all inspired by the beloved Neil Gaiman series, with songs that reference everything from the comics, to the hit TV series and the characters. Created by and starring Mason themself, the limited-run shows will feature Mike Garson, David Bowie’s longest-standing musician, along with Mike’s band and a delicious bevy of surprise celebrity guests.
“After a beautiful weekend of sold out shows with Mike Garson, I am beyond thrilled to continue haunting The Sun Rose… this time returning with a musical homage to The Sandman, just in time for Halloween!” says Mason. “Featuring some of my favorite songs from Rocky Horror to David Bowie, I can’t wait for folx to dress up in whatever they Desire, and see what we have in store…”
Prior to the “Endless Nights” shows next month, Mason was also seen and heard as the latest special guest to join Garson for his ongoing residency at The Sun Rose, which has previously seen appearances by Evan Rachel Wood, Jake Wesley Rogers and more. Performing on October 1st and 2nd, the duo delivered back-to-back evenings of jazz, renditions of iconic Bowie songs and more.
Tickets for all of Mason’s upcoming shows at The Sun Rose are available now here.
Mason is a nonbinary artist who can currently be seen starring as “Ian Wright” on the new NBC drama Quantum Leap and as “Desire” in Netflix’s acclaimed adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman. Previous TV roles include Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop. Park is also an accomplished theatre actor, most notably portraying the title role on the first Broadway national tour of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Mason’s shows and Garson’s residency both serve as part of a highly curated slate of shows The Sun Rose has hosted since officially opening their doors earlier this spring, with past events including the likes of Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, Nicole Scherzinger, Jack Harlow, T. Nava of Free Nationals and EMMY-Award-winning musical mastermind Adam Blackstone, who recently kicked off his buzzing new residency at the venue called “The Legacy Experience.” With surprise guest appearances by Dr. Dre, JoJo, Amber Riley, Simone Boseman, Anthony Hamilton, BJ Chicago the Kid, Eric Benét and many more, “The Legacy Experience” has an anything-can-happen atmosphere where artists “can be called on at any time to come up on stage (Variety).” Built on the hallowed grounds of House of Blues in Los Angeles, CA and a part of Pendry Hotel West Hollywood and an extension of The Britely social club, The Sun Rose is a stunning new venue located in the heart of the sunset strip. With a capacity of 150 people, the intimate venue is quickly becoming a go-to destination for unmissable concerts and a staple in the city’s music scene.
