The first role for Shane West after the final season of Nikita is a big one.
He has been set as the lead in the new WGN America original series Salem, several outlets including The Hollywood Reporter revealed.
Salem is a 13 episode drama set in the 17th century at the time of the Salem witch trials. West will be playing John Alden, who THR describes as “handsome, tough, pragmatic, wry-humored, not a man to suffer fools, a hardened veteran of 10 years of war and captivity at the hands of the Indians, who returns to his native Salem to find it consumed in Witch Hunt frenzy.”
Also starring in Salem will be Seth Gabel (Fringe) and Janet Montgomery (Human Target), so there are three great reasons to watch, right there. Nikita’s Xander Berkeley also stars, which means we could be getting a Michael-Percy reunion.
Salem is said to premiere on WGN America in 2014.
