WGN America has released the first full-length trailer for supernatural drama Salem and in it, we see the impact that the unchecked rule of the Dark Lord has on the citizens of Salem.
Season three of Salem showcases the fruits of the Grand Rite and what should’ve been a momentous occasion for the witches. They had successfully overthrown the Puritanical oppression that had filled their town with fear, paranoia, and deadly hypocrisy, but instead of a utopia in which they can openly practice the dark arts, they’ve created a perfect opening for the Dark Lord himself to have his way with this earthly plane. His plan isn’t inclusive of the witches and doesn’t hit upon the goals they had in mind when the process of bringing him to Earth was begun; instead, the Dark Lord brings about nothing but death and slavery in an attempt to destroy humanity itself. And the only person who can stop him is the person who loves him (or the vessel in which he arrived) most – Mary Sibley.
From Brannon Braga and Adam Simon (Terra Nova), Salem stars Janet Montgomery (Human Target), Shane West (Nikita), Ashley Madekwe (Revenge), Seth Gabel (Arrow), and Tamzin Merchant (Jane Eyre).
The third season of Salem is set to premiere Halloween week. A more specific premiere date and time should be announced in the coming weeks.
