Freeform has revealed that the series premiere of Hulu drama Runaways, which was originally released last November, will encore following the Thursday, August 2nd season finale of Cloak & Dagger.
The news comes months after Runaways was renewed for a second season and a day after Netflix dramedy BoJack Horseman landed a syndication deal with Comedy Central. It’s as yet unclear whether this will be a one-time airing or if Disney will experiment more with giving Hulu shows linear exposure.
Based on Marvel comic of the series of the same name, with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The O.C.) developing for television, Runaways follows an estranged group of former friends who are forced to join forces when they realize their parents are up to no good.
The series stars the likes of Gregg Sulkin (Faking It), James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Allegra Acosta (100 Things to Do Before High School), Annie Wersching (24), Kevin Weisman (Alias), Virginia Gardner (Project Almanac), and Rhenzy Feliz (Casual).
The season finale of Cloak & Dagger, meanwhile, finds Tandy and Ty attempting to fully master their powers just as someone starts up a new version of the Roxxon Drill.
