The CW’s Deadman may have some competition in the “adaptation of ghostly DC Comics characters” department.
Deadline is reporting that FOX is developing a TV series based on classic DC Comics character The Spectre. The project will be written by Brandon Camp, creator of John Doe, who was introduced to the property by DC’s Geoff Johns. Movie producer Bill Gerber (Gran Torino) will be an executive producer with Camp.
Here’s how Deadline describes the project:
“The Spectre centers on a former cop serving time in afterlife limbo who hunts down earthly criminals on behalf of the dead — and mortals soon to be dead if ultimate justice is not served.”

Fox already did this show and cancelled it in the 90s. Apparently they don’t remember..
