TMZ this morning posted some unfortunate news for fans of actor Lee Thompson Young — the former star of The Famous Jett Jackson, whose later credits included Flash Forward and a recurring role as Victor Stone aka “Cyborg” on Smallville, has passed away. Young could currently be seen on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles.
He was only 29 years old.
TMZ is reporting that Young was found with a gunshot wound that was apparently self-inflicted. Hopefully more information will be available soon.

UPDATE: Rizzoli & Isles creator/writer/executive producer Janet Tamaro has made a Tweet that confirms today’s sad news. “We are all without the words to truly express our collective grief and profound sadness at the loss of such a sweet, bright light,” she posted today on the Twitter social network. She also made a separate Tweet that included the hashtag #RIPLeeThompsonYoung.

So said he was a good talent, but you never know what problems folks may have had. Hopefully this wasn’t the case here. But rip lee.
I first remember seeing L.T.Y. on the Famous Jett Jackson. I was always so jealous of him because he was such a gifted, natural, performer, with more charisma is pinky than most performers had in their whole body and when I saw him on Smallville as Cyborg, I thought it was perfect casting. Such good chemistry with everyone especially in Justice. My condolences to his loved ones, a cryin’ shame. Rest in Peace L.T.Y.
One of my favorite actors of all time. I first fell in love with him on the Famous Jett Jackson and fell in love with him all over again on Smallville. What a talented gifted actor and a sweet soul for my generation.
