Who Is The Big Bad For Riverdale Season 2?

Riverdale has not officially been renewed for a second season yet, but it sounds like the Season 1 finale does tee up a “Big Bad” for Riverdale Season 2 if there should be one — and let’s be real, with the social media buzz behind the show and an overall deal between Warner Bros. Television and Archie Comics, there most likely will be one.

Bleeding Cool is reporting on a quote from the Coast-to-Coast Comic-Con, where Archie Comics Chief Creative Officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teased this very subject:

“We’ll be teasing in the big bad for season 2,” he said it. “It’s someone who has long, deep ties to the Archie universe. It’s definitely a character people know. I think it’s a character that people won’t see coming.”

Sabrina the Teenage Witch

While Sabrina-as-a-villain might be an odd notion, perhaps she’s under the spell of some outside forces? A well-cast Sabrina with her trademark white hair would add a visual spark to Riverdale Season 2…. and, once she goes to the good side, she’d be a prime candidate for her own series which would be a heck of a lot better than a Charmed reboot would be.

Cheryl Blossom

Who says this character isn’t one we’ve already seen on the show? Maybe the revelation of who killed Jason will unleash Cheryl’s inner really bad girl. Madelaine Petsch could certainly pull it off, though admittedly, we love seeing Cheryl as part of the gang, and would love for her to actually make some friends.
