Okay, so that headline was a little misleading.
Actually, it turns out that the actress who brought Buffy Summers to life, Sarah Michelle Gellar, has signed on to a new CBS project — thus automatically making it one of the most buzzed-about pilots this Spring.
Titled Ringer, this series – if it gets picks up – would star Gellar as a troubled young woman on the run from the mob. To escape them, she takes on the life of her rich twin sister, but – wouldn’t you know it – her sister’s in trouble as well. Vulture (who originally reported this news) reports that SMG is expected to play both roles.
Ringer comes from Supernatural’s Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder. Gellar will be a co-executive producer. The project is a production of both ABC Television Studios and CBS Television Studios.
