A few years ago, Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia co-created a comic book titled Rest. Now, Deadline.com is reporting that NBC is interested in a television series based on the comic.
NBC has put in a script commitment for the project, which will also be executive produced by Ventimiglia as well as his Divide Pictures production partner Russ Cundiff. Marc Silvestri and Matt Hawkins from Top Cow and producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will also be involved. Smallville Season 1 & 2 writer Philip Levens will be adapting the comic.
The main character of Rest is John Barret, a man who becomes involved in a testing program for a drug that eliminates the need for sleep, resulting in his spending every hour working. There sounds like there’s a conspiracy related to the pharmaceutical company that produces it. It sounds a little bit like DC’s Hourman, but without costumes. A trade paperback collection has been released from Top Cow, and you can get it on Amazon.com.

If someone ever discovers those kind of pills, I would like them please!
Well, House is a pill-popping lead character too,and it all worked out quite fine. The question is does the main character have the right assets or qualities to support this kind of trait. House is snarky, sarcastic, acid and what not, so what will John bring to the table?
and what does he do with this new ability?
I haven’t read the series, so I’m not entirely sure. :(
JenTheFanGirl on Twitter tells me the lead actually isn’t a pill-popper, so I’ve fixed the article. Still kind of confused as to how this all goes down. I’m all for comic book adaptations on TV but this does sound kind of involved and convoluted, so I’m not sure.
