Beauty And The Beast: Teasers For Monday’s New Episode “Don’t Die On Me”

The CW’s Beauty And The Beast returns this Monday, January 13 at 9PM on The CW, and the show’s many fans are anxiously anticipating what happens next. From the comments left to articles here on the site and on the forums dedicated to the show, it also seems that that fan base is also a bit nervous wondering if things will get “better.”

Don't Die on MeYou see, BATB is in an unfortunate position, show-wise, right now. The series’ main “ship” – Vincent and Catherine for those of you not currently watching – got close – VERY close – as early as the series’ first season. When Season 2 came on, a new showrunner (Brad Kern) came in, and, seemingly deciding that a couple being happy was boring, they split them up. First with amnesia, and now with a plague known as Tori.

Kidding. She’s not a plague. Okay, well, she kind of is. You’d think the producers would know after last year’s “Alex debacle” that “Beasties” don’t like interference much. But anyway, Tori’s there, and she’s still around in Monday’s episode.

What else can we tell you? Here are a few teasers.

Does Cat really expect people to believe her? Cat is questioned about what happened with her apprehension of Reynolds, and what happened when she tried to bring him in. It’s kind of amazing how people believe everything she says there, but of course someone’s BS detector goes off somewhere along the line and she’s questioned again. Gabe offers to help cover for her.

Vincent and Catherine argue about her choice to shoot him. It’s an impossible situation for both of them, really. Cat seems to make a few decisions for Vincent here, instead of risking more bad situations.

Cat claims to Tess that she is “done with it,” but we believe that about as much as we believe that Ron Perlman will be showing up for sweeps. (Hint for the sarcasm-impaired: We don’t believe her at all.)

Tori runs into drama with people who are wanting to sell off some of her father’s holdings. Or are they on to his Beastly past, and, by association, hers? That comes into play here.

Tess gets on JT’s case about all he has sacrificed and done for Vincent over the years. And JT gets himself arrested somewhere along the line. There’s a lot of misplaced blind loyalty going on in this show – JT for Vincent, Cat for Vincent, Gabe for Cat – and at a certain point it starts going over the top.

We learn something new about Vincent’s past, and one actor in particular really does a fantastic job in this episode when that information begins to come out. Can’t say who without spoiling, but you can probably figure it out.

The key to more revelations might be around the corner. THIS excites me.

And another misfire: Again, I get the point of drama, but using the word “we” in reference to Tori and Vincent is just going to piss off the fan base that the show still has. If the show wants a third season, at least the core audience needs to be happier.

On the bright side: There’s no Vincent/She-Beast sex.

Is the episode worth it? To be completely honest, and I don’t want the Beasties to roast me for it: For the most part, I wasn’t feeling it. The bad guys of the week who were going after Tori were not extremely compelling, even though they led to a cool action sequence and the “further revelations” that I mentioned.

However, the last 10 minutes or so of the episode were compelling, and would have me interested in seeing what happens next. Something REALLY big happens. I think there’s a decent show here, and I really like the cast (especially Kristin Kreuk, of course) – but the show really needs to find its identity. A couple can have challenges that don’t involve shooting each other or other Beasts coming in. As the show started, they asked what a beauty may be, and what a beast may be. Let’s see them explore that, because again, they need to throw in anything they can to appeal to the audience they’ve got. There was a reason BATB got a Season 2 to begin with – the fan base is there. Now it’s time not to pander, but at the very least make them happier. Please. I’ve followed enough TV shows to know that a certain point does come where even the most die-hard fans might say “enough,” and it feels like BATB is teetering on that edge lately.

Finally an honest reviewer. The writers need to take heed and fix the VinCat epic love. It’s ok to cause a split but kidnapping, pushing, shooting and triangled ..especially with the creepy man who caused all their problems …was just a sean dive off the cliff. Thsnks to this writer for saying what needs to be said. Enough
Is enough for even the dedicated core fan.

    2. This so much on Jan 8, 2014 7:08 pm

This so much. They couldn’t even do the triangle correctly. Look at Twilight, Vampire Diaries, Scott Pilgram, Bridget Jones, The Walking Dead for godsakes. The world has ended and even then, they’re fighting over a woman. This show opted for the violence against your soulmate and the porn angle of Vincent getting some from Cat, his bf’s gf, the girl who is still under the guardianship of her dad. These girls aren’t even major characters. There’s no road back from douchbaghood. I think Kristin said it best when describing Jay’s look on comic-con. Shady. Vincent is a shady character. Not even an anti-hero.

    3. Jam on Jan 8, 2014 9:57 pm

What about Cat`s storyline? This season only focus so much on Vincent and not much on Cat? I hate that. Cat should get her spotlight soon! Please!

    4. Sally on Jan 9, 2014 12:47 am

Thank you! I agree…enough already. Its not really about Catherine and Vincent’s separation but rather “how” these new writers are going on about it. Not only is it depressing….honestly, who watches a show to feel depressed and frustrated. I get enough of that in real life. I watch a show, especially one based on a ‘fairytale romance’, to escape reality for a bit and be engaged, feel excited, root for my characters, and simply to ‘FEEL GOOD’ not the other way around *sigh* But, I also feel this show has been insulting my intelligence a lot this season with some of the MOST OVERUSED cliched, eye rolling, far fetched plot devices found in the ‘writers 101 handbook’. Come on?! Really!? In a year where we are seeing and celebrating strong complex female roles, like Sandra Bullock in ‘Gravity’, Jennifer Lawrence in ‘Hunger Games’, and even Emma Thompson in ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ to see our female lead reverted to a weak, clingy, obsessive cardboard of a woman is just so disappointing. Especially, when her character wasn’t like this last season! I don’t even want to go on about the writing of Vincent’s character or the rest of the cast for that matter. The smart sarcastic one liners of J.T. Forbes have all but disappeared (along with his character) and Tess has become an empty shell of her former tough and witty self. *double sigh* And since I’m on the topic of last season nostalgia…I want to know, what was so wrong with last season?! Why the need for some of these DRASTIC changes (Cat’s dull monochromatic apartment for instance). After all season1 was the season that got them a PCA award, that generated this ‘passionate’ Beastie fandom, and as you said got them its 2nd season in the first place. So why the 180?! I can understand changing it up a bit and some of its themes sounded promising but became disappointing (Cat’s discovery of her bio dad through a photo *eye rolls*) but looking at both seasons its like night and day. Then, this whole notion of a couple together is boring, is just a poor excuse for lazy writing…we have shows like ‘Bones’ and ‘Castle’ with their romantic leads going strong for many seasons…Nothing boring about that. I am as you said hanging on by a thread with this show out of my fond memories of its first season and the love for all of the talented actors but, I’m definitely reaching my breaking point. I really do ‘HOPE’ it gets better!
The fans (Beasties) have done their part loving, promoting, and even winning them PCA awards NOW its time for these new writers, producer, and ‘Powers That Be’ to do theirs!!!!

    5. Char on Jan 9, 2014 2:20 am

I absolutely agree! The writers need to get their act together before the show is gone for good; it has so much potential and I feel like those behind the scenes are letting it down! Sad!

THIS > ‘On the bright side: There’s no Vincent/She-Beast sex. ‘
THANKS Craig!!! That’s seriously all I need to hear. PHEW!!!
Enjoyed reading your article. Pretty much spot on regarding what Beasties love about this show.
The only aspect of BatB that I DON’T love in Season 2 is that we were promised NO love triangles after the Alex debacle in Season 1 and now we have Tori AND Gabe coming between our beloved pair. Seriously why? I was so excited to have Brad Kern come aboard BatB after watching 2×01 and seeing all the dynamic changes. What he’s done for Vincent ~ TWO thumbs up. The Beast and action sequences are one of my favorite aspects of the show now. I don’t find it too violent at all. Catherine on the other hand ~ not liking her character so much. She is blowing hot and cold with Vincent so far in Season 2. No I ‘m not calling her weak but she seems confused as to how to deal with Vincent 2.0. I don’t know if that is intentional. It hasn’t made her as endearing to me as she was in Season 1. We were warned that our VinCat’s relationship was going to be sorely tested and boy are they. And us. Ouch. I agree with Sally above. I always call BatB my happy place where I can relax and enjoy this beautiful love story and leave feeling good. There is not enough of that in Season 2 so far. I hope the 2nd part of BatB sees the much awaited return of what I love best ~ our VinCat reunited AND recommitted to each other in every way and not have to keep suffering! I believe most of us loyal fans have been really patient with the angst! That being said, I will never stop watching BatB no matter what they throw at us because I adore my VinCat and believe in this show. I know Brad Kern has mapped out BatB for at least 5 seasons and I truly truly hope ALL viewers AND the network will continue to give BatB a chance to tell its intriguing compelling story to the end.

I LOVED to read this…”When Season 2 came on, a new showrunner (Brad Kern) came in, and, seemingly deciding that a couple being happy was boring, they split them up. First with amnesia, and now with a plague known as Tori.”

Viewers are woman, and NO, most of us don’t think a couple being happy is boring. This season has been tough to watch and they r lucky so many of us are loyal beasties still watching. still hoping each week for the writers to make all right. This show is about the beauty and the beast in love. What we are getting this season has only left us crying and frustrated after each single episode.
They can be in love but writers still can find interesting plots around them, no doubt. Of course if they make the effort. They don’t need to put the couple and the viewers in so much pain with violence, triangles , lies….That should had never happened between the Beauty and her Beast, never,
I can see everywhere Beasties saying what they really think. Please writers do the right thing and give us back the S1 romance we all miss so much!! We need our old Vincent back…The one we voted for over and over in the PCA.Don’t forget that !!
Life is tough enough, I watch BATB to get some sweet feeling each week !! Not to feel sad and depressed after each episode!
      Please fix it !!!!!!!

    8. angelaparaboschi on Jan 9, 2014 5:02 am

Ok It is your idea but I read other reviews where they say that next episode is not bad and if a show, for last ten minutes, wants to see you how it ends, this show has realized its intent

    9. Neethi on Jan 9, 2014 5:20 am

“Please. I’ve followed enough TV shows to know that a certain point does come where even the most die-hard fans might say “enough,” and it feels like BATB is teetering on that edge lately.”

You know if there is one thing BatB has taught me, it’s that love cannot and should not be unconditional. There has to be a point when you say enough is enough. This holds true for the fans who’re holding on to BatB, and for Catherine who’s holding on to Vincent. I know that ultimately Vincent will come back to her and they’ll live happily ever after, etc, etc. But since Mr. Kern likes being realistic, so here it is. What’s been made of VinCat REALISTICALLY speaking is a point of no return and I really hope the female viewers watching this realise that and don’t hold on to their man when he turns so toxic. And of course, vice-versa is also true for the males holding on to a relationship where they aren’t getting much in return. Because that is not love, it’s idiocy. There I said it. Been dying to get this off my chest ever since ‘she loves Vincent’ is being used as a poor excuse for reducing a smart, intelligent Catherine to a weak, desperate woman clinging on to the hopes that the man she loved last season is still there somewhere.

Thank you for the teasers and for your honest reviews, Mr. Byrne. And thank you for pointing out that certain fans who’ve given up on the show have done so because it’s been too much to take, not because they didn’t love the show to begin with :)

    10. Fay on Jan 9, 2014 5:33 am

It’s true that Beasties aren’t really happy with the situation between Vincent and Catherine on Beauty and the Beast at present, but we have faith in the show and we are willing to give the writers a chance to prove to us that they know what they’re doing. We continue to support them because we love the cast and want to see the series continue.

    11. Ruth Cassidy on Jan 9, 2014 5:49 am

I love you! Thank you so much for putting into words the struggles we beasties are having. We want to love our show, support our show, but gosh it gets hard when you keep slapping us down! Thank you for an honest and interesting tease. I am looking forward to watching because of your thoughts.

    12. brooke on Jan 9, 2014 7:06 am

I do thank you too for the honest, to the point review of not only this episode but what is happening this season. I am not going to give my personal opinion of what is wrong or right as at this point, there is no point re-hashing what has already happened. This is a truly good show with a very talented cast. It is also an amazing, committed, passionate, crazy, obsessed fan base. The fans are going above and beyond to show their support of the show, their perseverance, and their appreciation for the talents of the actors; voting in polls, PCA’s etc. Whether people love, like, hate or tolerate this season, we are doing all we can to keep the show on the air BUT I do agree it is time for the writers and showrunner to show that as well for the sake of everyone. We have till March 10 to really see the love story back front and center. So whatever the plan, for those fans who are on that brink and even I think for the fans who are still hanging in there and like what has happened, then make it right. It is their decisions that have been a part of why we are where we are at and we know with past successes they all have tremendous talent. This show does have so much potential for many future seasons, and like Castle and other shows where the characters are in love and together, being together can work but we need to get t hrough this season, which as you say seems like is on the brink of many people saying enough is enough.
It does seem like more and more we are seeing the same comments and they are really starting to come from not only the fans but the critics as well, so for the future of Beauty and the Beast, please to the shippers, writers and showrunner, help us help Beauty and the Beast get a 3rd season! We love this show and everyone associated with it!

    13. brendab800@gmail.com on Jan 9, 2014 8:44 am

I agree totally with the above assessment of the show.I have been saying this for awhile. The writers need to listen to what the fans want.It really does not matter what they want as long as the fans are happy and a lot of people watch. They are so far off the mark with Cat shooting Vincent for example.I also love the show and don’t want it to get cancelled because the writers decide to make the show almost unrelateable.

    14. Robinia on Jan 9, 2014 9:16 am

The downward trajectory Season 2 has taken looks irreversible and grow worse with each new episode setting the negative tone for the whole season. The characters have been radically altered and derailed for meaningless reasons to where they are almost unenjoyable ( Vincent and Catherine ) or boring ( Tess and Gabe ) . The only bright spot ( JT ) is making few apperances and the final effect is alienating most of the fans who are losing , or lost, any interest in their fate or stop shipping the main couple. Leaving aside how dark and depressing the settings and atmospheres are , the storyline is simply inconsistent, confused and drags on too long without any sort of progression, or rushes with any sort of resolution. Some of Season 1 plot holes have been poorly resolved leaving me with more questions than answers. Some of the major WTF-moments of Season2 have been terribly executed or were just plain stupid ,getting the impressions that the writers are starting to get a bit confused , ran out of creative ideas very quickly or even worse, they are not good enough. Once you get this impression the disconnection with the show is inevitable and can be sensed a mile off – repeating “Be patient ,it will get better” sounds like a desperate attempt to cover the lack of inspiration and a disappointing failure. Once this impression has been set in audience mind it’ll never be the same again, and from now on it’s all downhill.

    15. Krissy on Jan 9, 2014 10:19 am

Thank you Mr. Byrne for your honest review, if beasties roar it’s to confirm the valid points you’ve made. We just won Best Scifi Fantasy and Best Scifi Actress PCA’s so beasties are feeling re-energized. It definitely isn’t because of where the show is at presently, and honestly I didn’t expect to like ‘Don’t Die On Me’ it’s just an episode to ‘get through’ until hopefully BatB gets back on track with VinCat. I really really hope the writers and Brad Kern do NOT disappoint us! I want to believe they understand what is most important about this show, the Beauty and her Beast mythology! It can be done… hopefully the ‘trust us’ will hold true! I’m not the kind of person who stomps her foot and feels ‘this is MY show, you have to do what I want’ but Mr. Kern and the producers are seriously heading into a abyss if they don’t repair and bring the core, ‘together we can overcome anything, VinCat, back front and center to BatB!

    16. Ashley Martin on Jan 9, 2014 10:36 am

Thank you so much. You are spot on the money. You wrote what I feel. This fandom is exhausted and the creative team (collectively) has pushed many of us to the absolute limit of what we can stand. I’m so disappointed in the creative choices being made and use of boring plot devices, I don’t even know where to start most of the time. But I usually start with the fact that Season 1 Vincent would NEVER have hurt Catherine. Ever. Physically pushing her was the first fatal choice they made. You know at a certain point, it becomes hard to remember what was special about their relationship to begin with. He should have never crossed that line. The second really epic fail, of course, was the use of a plot device such as Tori who cheapens the story, and deadens our love for the show. You know, if I wanted to watch the Vampire Diaries… But I quit that show because I hated the “love triangles”. Anyway, I don’t think we are necessarily like the fans of most of the other CW shows. These types of creative choices fall flat, fans lose interest, and from there, there is no recovery. We are definitely toeing that line. I think the creative team has broken the first rule in the book of how to make a television show. RULE NUMBER ONE: Tell a story that is compelling, but don’t alienate your fan base. As far as I’m concerned, in season 2, they have done both.

    17. Pamela on Jan 9, 2014 11:17 am

Thank you for your honest teasers and perspective! All I can add is totally agree to all the comments posted. Always support #BatB but very difficult and sad this season.

    18. k allen on Jan 9, 2014 11:42 am

Thank you so much Mr Craig Byrne. Sir, you have hit the nail directly on the head! Finally someone who speaks for this and so many other #Beasties. #Beasties who r still managing despite smaller numbers, disappointment and frustration to bring home 2 PCA awards for r show and r wonderful Kristin!

    19. maureen on Jan 9, 2014 2:17 pm

Whenever I go on any social media site, fansite, tv site, I am totally in awe of the love for t his show. And I am not just talking about the fans: the actors, the writers, the tv critics-everyone really loves and supports this show. Probably the only entity not loving this show right now is the network. Even though this is one of Mr. Pedowitz’ projects, he has a business to run so he needs to make decisions that are financial in nature. Whether the system that determines that is out-dated or antiquated, it is what it is now and though we can see the shift to more emphasis on other things, like social media, it is still what we have now. When you look at the ratings, the fact that it looks like the cost to produce this show has gone up exponentially and the fact that advertisiers are wondering whether advertising on a show that only has an average viewing of 700,000-those tough decisions have to be made.

When you look at the show itself, we all understand that the end game is Vincent and Catherine back together and their unconditional, Epic love, like they had in Season 1. And though we would not like everything we would survive because they would be back together for good at the end of the season. The expectations for this season were high, given what we had in Season 1, because I do not think anyone debates how wonderful season 1 was and it made us all fall in love with the love. We were told right from the get go that this season was going to be a slow, evolution of that love story again; with all of these extreme challenges including love triangles. Now, however, even the critics are talking about the season as much as the episodes and how it is time to get back to that. I have no doubt that after episode 9 we will start to see that slow return to the connection they have in both the romantic and mythological sense. But, what everyone seems to be saying, including the critics, is that we CANNOT wait for some indefinite episode that will be aired at some indefinite time in the summer or in April or whenever to see that connection happen. The love story needs to be back by the time that undetermined period happens or I think there will be a lot of faith lost in everyone. No one really knows what will happen at this point with the s how; cancellation; season 3; when the last episodes will air; all we really know is that we need some closure before all those questions are answered. The fans are all behind this show in every sense of the word; even the really unhappy fans are committed enough to express their opinions so they still have a vested interest; so if there is anytime to show the appreciation for the commitment of the fans, the critics and everyone then do what is right and bring back the unconditional epic love in the next 8 episodes.

Craig – Do you know why they switched showrunners? I’ve never seen a statement of *why*, either from the original showrunner or the CW.

Maybe NOW some of TPTB of BatB will actually listen to the fans??!!

    22. Adele on Jan 9, 2014 4:07 pm

I agree with most of the comments that everyone has expressed. I love the show and know the writers have a plan that will bring Vincent and Catherine back together even stronger than before. Myself, I don’t feel many of the frustrations that other fans are feeling. I’m excited for every episode to see what happens next and watch them over again on the CW website, but I sympathize with them.

Beast sempre Beast.

I think at this point there are more beasties not pleased with what is given to us on season 2 than the ones pleased. The problem lies on the destruction of the epic love story #VinCat awesomeness is gone for good and even if they are together again there is something that is broken, VINCENT was our baronistic hero why make him such a realistic douche bag of a beast and Catherine was an independent woman but sensible to this man/beast struggle. Action improved but writing went down the toilet this season and destroy our beloved fairy tale. Im still actively participating because of the love I have for season 1 and its premises and Im hoping they find a way to fix it and bring back the real characters from season 1 becuase this season instead of discovering themselves they lost themselves.

Another thing, if we also want the show to go on we need to make the writers, producers, cast & crew know that the reason we still winning polls etc. is because our love for the show itself not because we are happy to where they did to the epic love story and by this I dont mean they have to be lovey dovey all the time or together but keep true to the characters they introduced us on Season 1 thats all.

I soo agree with this article. I will continue to watch #batb but the overtop loyalty to Vincent by some and over top anti- Vincent by Tess, all the stupid story lines just so that they create drama is getting ridiculous. He’s a beast running and hiding from the world, that’s drama enough! Someone needs to tell the writers how their bread is buttered and that’s through the love of “the beauty and the beast”. Fresh of a PCA win where the fan base worked soo hard against shows with tremendous fan base to win the PCA the show comes back to Vince/Tori & Cat/Gabe fiasco. It’s disappointing! The true fans that fell in love with the show for the simple virtues of two people fight for their love against the world. What kind of epic love is this….with every episode it looks more like a dysfunctional relationship than Epic love. Let’s not forget this show is on the verge of possible cancellation at least give back to us: the fans who did everything we could for the show.

Thank you for your non-sugarcoated review. Finally..there is someone who has a good feel on what a lot of Beasties are feeling about the show. I am obviously very disappointed in this season so far and like many, hanging on by a thread. I have SLIM hopes that the showrunners are aware that their 5 year plan was a major failure and are now doing their best to restore some faith in the fanbase. I still love the show and will fight till the end for a season 3, but I’m doing so mostly because I can’t stand to see the show end this way. I want the showrunners to reward their loyal and passionate fanbase with what WE WANT which is a return to VinCat epic love. These next few episodes especially with Tori still around sound to be a huge downer, but I’m hopeful that now that she seems to finally be gone we can move on to the rebuilding of VinCat.

Wow!!! That said it all for me. Thank you an accurate and precise view. There was a reason I became a fan of BATB, but season 2 is heading me towards indifference. So far season 2 hasn’t captured me the way season 1 did and I’m praying it will get back to what made it interesting which is VinCat. When my sister and law told me she was interested in it, of course I told her Season 2 was wonderful. Both her and I are die hard romantics. I couldn’t lie to her about season 2 not having that romance. So, we shall see where it goes.

Beasties need closure before the next hiatus! Things r 2 unpredictable at this point. We need the characters we grew 2 love back so we can cherish them and feel good again. So if sadly we do have 2 say goodbye abruptly at least we’ll have that. #BATB

Craig-Thank you for expressing what so many beasties have been struggling with. We want to be loyal to our show and do like drama and conflict. Creative people do not need to turn a relationship so toxic to have it be interesting and challenging. Its called imagination–use it. Thanks again Craig. I will remain a loyal beastie to the end… but well said Craig.

There is something powerful in the chemistry between the two main characters. It Is so emotionally involving that it can be breathtaking at times. That in itself should be a flag to the producers. Don’t waste that incredibly unique chemistry.

Why continue a dysfunctional story line. Right now, the focus seems to be on the break up and the ridiculous triangle theme.

Insulting as it is, didn’t Brad Kern say that because Gabe is rich and handsome, Catherine needs to explore a relationship with him? What is that saying about women in general?

Her lines this year haven’t been those of a smart independent woman. She only parrots what others say, never having an original thought of her own. This is a disservice to the character. She never gives Vincent any credit for his ability or his intelligence, but would rather believe the arrogant but useless Gabe.

While Tess always had memory issues, she still had some clever lines. This year, the constant childish “you like her” was nonsense from the first time she spoke them, let alone the fiftieth. And our beloved JT has been all but removed.

As they increase the amount of screen time for Gabe/Catherine, Catherine/Reynolds they lessen the time for the others. In episode 8, JR had less than 10 minutes of screen time. Instead they featured a useless café scene of her meeting her father before he left the country. Inane at best.

During season 1, 19 episodes were about Catherine finding the truth about her mother. Now the first 8 episodes of season 2 are about her relationship with her biological father, and the batting of her eyes and the thank you’s to Gabe who so far has: turned over a victim to a beast, convinced Catherine to murder a beast so he could experiment on him, convinced Catherine that Vincent was purchased by a drug dealer, takes the credit for destroying Muirfield headquarters, takes the credit for “busting a perp” neither of which he did.

Where are the writers going? I will continue to watch until the end because there are glimpses of our couple. The unspoken looks, and the electricity when they are in the same scene can’t be denied and I cherish them.

I wanted to add that the Tori story line is just plain boring. The character has not been allowed to show any emotion and has been suppressed to be completely one dimensional. The fake crying and the awful fake gasp at the grizzly death of her father were pathetic. The gaping mouth doesn’t portray beastliness nor does the heavy stomping and the incredibly stupid lines she has to speak. Even as a newly discovered beast, there should be some sort of cunning, grace and intelligence. So far, there isn’t any. I am not sure if the director wants this to be kind of a plodding beast rather than cat like, but to try to create a triangle out of this beyond being contemptuous of the viewers.

Allison, lol did Brad Kern really say that? Wtf. No wonder this season is so douchebaggy. We need a modern woman to voice CatTess and a modern man to voice Vincent. I hope Jennifer Levin gets some creative power back and end this series on a right note. Right note being Cat dumping Vincent for good. At this point, who cares about plot holes, just bring Evan back and have him be happily ever after. I would love that ending. Kristin had crazy chemistry with Max.

I watched “Don’t Die on Me” last night and I have to say I really loved this episode. It put a lot of stuff into motion and the JT reveal shocked me to no end. I am very interested and excited to see where this goes. It is a completely different feeling but somehow this episode got me over my hump missing the tone from S1. I am thinking they can move forward now. Maybe it is just me… but this cleared the air for me.

I have watched Episode 9 several times now. BatB has an amazing cast consisting of talented actors and actresses. Jay Ryan stole the scene in this episode. Outstanding performance in portraying a man in pain, hurt by the one who once in love with him, fear of the unknown, and a beast still grabs on to his humanity to protect people and to be a good model to a younger beast. The dying beast scene makes my heart ache. His performance is mind blowing despite the fact that the writers have not yet written many intelligent dialogues for neither Vincent’s nor Catherine’s part. Bringing back Catherine as a strong character needs more than Kristin’s talent, it needs amazing writing. Evidently, just a few good lines for Tess and JT moments made both characters alive…the beautiful yet intelligent Tess, the guilt-biting true friend and the one-step-closer inter-relationship. Amazing moments are created by the writing. This episode was definitely an improvement and opened up a whole new horizon for creative writing to re-build these amazing characters to be loved by the viewers. We know that Vincent and Catherine will find their way back to each other again. At this point, it is up to the writers to bring some more amazing work on top of the amazing cast and crew. Nevertheless, I am additive to this show despite the imperfection (which happens to all other CW shows.) I am excited to see how the characters progress from here onward.
