OWN has announced that the second season of acclaimed drama Queen Sugar will resume Tuesday, October 3rd at 10:00 and Wednesday, October 4th at 10:00 before making its time slot premiere Wednesday, October 11th at 10:00.
When Queen Sugar returns, Charley reaches out to her mother Lorna for a talk about her upbringing, while Darla attempts to use her engagement with Ralph Angel to mend fences with her family, Vi’s condition worsens to the point where the siblings begin worrying about the future, and Micah comes to terms with what happened during his arrest.
From Ava DuVernay (Selma), Queen Sugar follows the Borderlon siblings as they’re forced to band together upon the death of their father and help keep his sugarcane farm afloat. The series, which has already been renewed for a third go-around, stars Dawn-Lyen Gardner (Luke Cage), Rutina Wesley (True Blood), and Kofi Siriboe (Awkward.).
Queen Sugar is part of a scripted slate for OWN that includes Greenleaf, If Loving You is Wrong, and The Haves and the Have Nots, with Love Is and an untitled drama from Moonlight co-writer Tarell Alvin McCraney on the way. You can take a look at the midseason premiere below.
