While there’s still frustratingly been no news of Power Rangers Megaforce‘s return date, other than that it will have to finish its run before Super Megaforce premieres in 2014, there have been loads of spoilers coming out about the end of the show…which is still a good 31 episodes away.
Many surprises in the cameo-heavy finale haven’t been kept terribly under wraps—aside from perhaps the plot itself—and keeping up that tradition, we’ve got the episode title for the season finale before any other season 2 episodes have leaked.
“Legendary” Ranger Jason David Frank originally posted a partial photo of the script on his Facebook with a for a contest prize package. Rangercrew confirmed the title, by releasing full photo of the script:
So there you have it: the 20th episode title of the legendary 20th anniversary season, which features a legendary battle of Rangers, is aptly titled “Legendary Battle”. Aren’t exactly being coy about it, are they?
The writer of the finale, Seth Walther, has written a handful of episodes of Power Rangers Samurai and Power Rangers Megaforce, particularly some stronger ones like “The Sealing Symbol” and “Prince Takes Knight”, respectively. Walther has also written for a number of English anime dubs, most notably the fellow Saban/Disney/Saban again franchise, Digimon: Digital Monsters.
Considering the lack of date confirmations, it’ll surely be a while before we know for sure when the finale will air. Until then, keep checking back for Nickelodeon’s confirmation of when season one will return!

So how can Super Megaforce be 20th season?
Power Rangers seasons are all semantics at this point. In this context, “20th anniversary season” wasn’t meant to be read as “season #20” but rather “season celebrating the 20th anniversary.” Admittedly, though, that’s still confusing given that the second half of Megaforce is in 2014, the year after the ACTUAL 20th anniversary, but that’s more of a marketing misstep than anything. It’s best to just grin and bare it and enjoy that we at least get some anniversary spectacle for two years rather than one, however silly it may be.
In a nutshell, Power Rangers just suffers the Sequel Number Snarl Trope in spades.
