FX has released a behind the scenes featurette for upcoming ballroom drama Pose and in it, we get a glimpse of those dealing with a New York in flux.
From Ryan Murphy (American Crime Story), Brad Falchuk (Glee), and Steven Canals (Dead of Summer), Pose takes place in the late ’80s ballroom scene in New York City, chronicling the found families ballroom houses served as for queer and trans youth and taking viewers into the heart of the glamorous balls. The series juxtaposes this with a city undergoing a serious real estate boom during the “Greed is good” era, with ambitious New Jersey couple Stan (Evan Peters) and Patty (Kate Mara) caught in the vortex of a changing society that offers them things they couldn’t have otherwise imagined.
