USA Announces Summer 2017 Premiere Dates

USA Network has set its summer 2017 slate that includes one big scripted premiere and a fleet of returns from critic and audience favorites.

Kicking things off will be celebrity game show Big Star, Little Star, which makes its series premiere Wednesday, May 31st at 9:00. The series, hosted by Cat Deeley (So You Think You Can Dance), pairs celebrities with their children and tests the knowledge each has of one another. All three celebrities per episode will be playing for charity while providing behind the scenes moments from their personal lives.

June sees two series returning for new seasons, with drug drama Queen of the South debuting its second season Thursday, June 8th at 10:00. Last season, Teresa lost dear friend Brenda while being caught in the middle of two cartels, but this season she’ll face the shocking return of someone she thought she lost long ago. Also returning this June is acclaimed comedy Playing House, whose third season will premiere Friday, June 23rd at 11:00. The entire third season of Playing House will then hit VOD following the premiere, a tweak to the show’s release strategy from last season, where episodes were released early weekly.

The seventh season of Suits, which finds the team at Pearson Specter Litt back together and dealing with the loss of Jessica, will be making its debut on Wednesday, July 12th at 9:00. Joining Suits in premiering this July is the second season of Ryan Phillippe drama Shooter, set to return Tuesday, July 18th at 10:00. The series was a very solid hit when it debuted this past fall, so it’s understandable that USA would want the show to return so quickly.

Finally, USA’s lone scripted series premiere will also be its lone August premiere. The Sinner, an anthology starring Jessica Biel (7th Heaven) and based on the Petra Hammesfahr novel of the same name, tells the story of a young mother who commits a horrific act of violence and doesn’t know why. You can check out a trailer for The Sinner, which premieres Wednesday, August 2nd at 10:00, below.
