The Unicorn: CBS Comedy Pilot Adds Four Series Regulars

Deadline is reporting that CBS comedy pilot The Unicorn has added four series regulars.

From Bill Martin and Mike Schiff (3rd Rock from the Sun), The Unicorn follows Wade (Walton Goggins), a recent widower trying to move forward with his life but having difficulty processing just how unprepared he is. Wade receives a great surprise, though, when he discovers he’s a hot property in the dating world.

Omar Benson Miller (Ballers) is set as father of four Ben, one of Wade’s friends who’s supportive of his attempts of getting back out into the world; Maya Lynne Robinson (The Conners) will play Ben’s laidback wife Michelle, who’s impatient with Wade when he starts waffling about whether to put himself out there; Rob Corddry (Childrens Hospital) portrays Forrest, Wade’s tightly wound, ultra cerebral friend who lives vicariously through his dating exploits; and Michaela Watkins (Casual) is set as Forrest’s highly regimented wife Delia, who takes the helm when Wade starts looking to date again.

The Unicorn is part of a comedy pilot slate for CBS that includes Bob Hearts Abishola, an interracial romantic comedy from Chuck Lorre; Broke, which follows a trust-fund baby (Jaime Camil) cut off from his father; Carol’s Second Act, starring Patricia Heaton as a woman who makes a mid-life career change; The Emperor of Malibu, from the author of Crazy Rich Asians; multi-cam Our House, which stars Katherine Heigl and Malcolm Barrett; To Whom It May Concern, about a 20-something trying to accomplish a list of challenges he wrote for himself years ago; and The Us Project, a story told through interviews and vignettes spanning 10 years.
