Deadline is reporting that Daredevil alum Elodie Yung has been cast in FOX drama pilot The Cleaning Lady.
Yung will play Salonga, whose ethnicity has been changed from Filipina to Cambodian while keeping the focus on Filipino culture from the original script. She replaces Shannyn Sossamon (Wayward Pines), who was originally cast in the role before exiting.
The casting of Yung indicates that The Cleaning Lady will be filmed after all. Per Deadline, the network plans to film all four of their drama pilots and both of their comedy pilots, though “when” depends on the trajectory and peak of the coronavirus.
In addition to her role on the Netflix drama, Yung’s television credits include The Defenders, as well as French series La vie devant nous, Mademoiselle Joubert, and Les blues: premiers pas dans la police.
