Deadline is reporting that FOX comedy pilot Patty’s Auto has added Young & Hungry alum Jonathan Sadowski. He’ll be playing Bill, the crass owner of the Muffler Men auto repair shop across the street from Patty’s Auto. His competitiveness with Patty is part of their inexplicable connection.
Inspired by Patrice Banks’ Girls Auto Clinic, with Darlene Hunt (The Big C) developing for television, Patty’s Auto follows an auto repair shop populated by all female mechanics.
In addition to his role on the ABC Family/Freeform comedy, Sadowski’s television credits include Lethal Weapon, $#*! My Dad Says, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. He joins a cast that features Joanna P. Adler (Devious Maids), Carra Patterson (The Arrangement), Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek), Kyla Pratt (One on One), and Paola Lazaro (Lethal Weapon).
Patty’s Auto is part of a small comedy pilot roster for FOX that includes relationship vehicle Adam & Eve, which follows the same relationship through three important periods; Geniuses, which stars Jason Biggs and Maggie Lawson as parents to three certified geniuses; and Richard Lovely, about a children’s book author whose most famous character comes to life.
The network has already given series orders to animated comedies Bless the Harts and Duncanville, both likely to debut in the 2019-20 season.
