Deadline is reporting that FOX has ordered a drama pilot centering on fertility.
Based on Australian series Sisters, with Annie Wiesman (The Path) writing and Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights) producing, the untitled pilot follows only child Julia as she finds out her fertility doctor father used his own sperm to conceive dozens of children during his career. The series follows Julia as she tracks down her half-siblings and becomes close with her two new sisters.
FOX’s fertility drama pilot joins a slate that includes Deputy, about a career lawman forced to act as Los Angeles Country Sheriff upon the assassination of his predecessor; dramedy Filthy Rich, which follows what happens when the CEO of the world’s largest Christian network dies; artificial intelligence drama neXt; Prodigal Son, centering on the son of a serial killer who becomes a criminal psychologist; and an untitled dramedy from Tom Kapinos that takes place at a wedding.
With drama pilot orders for FOX now done, casting should ramp up in the coming weeks.
