Variety is reporting that Scrubs alum Donald Faison has joined NBC drama pilot Emergence.
From Michelle Fazekas and Tara Butters (Reaper), Emergence follows Jo (Allison Tolman), a sheriff who finds a young child (Alexa Skye Swinton) near the site of a mysterious accident, only the child has no memory as to what happened. During the subsequent investigation into the accident, the sheriff finds herself pulled into a conspiracy she never imagined that centers on the child’s real identity.
Faison will play Alex, Jo’s ex-husband and father of their daughter Bree (Ashley Aufderheide).
In addition to his role on the NBC/ABC comedy, Faison’s television credits include Ray Donovan, The Exes, and Felicity. He joins a cast that also includes Clancy Brown (Deadwood) and Robert Bailey Jr. (The Night Shift).
Emergence is part of a drama pilot slate for NBC that includes musical dramedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist; terminal illness drama Council of Dads; Boomtown-esque murder trial examination Prism; Bone Collector series adaptation Lincoln; and Bluff City Law, a legal drama starring Jimmy Smits.
