Deadline is reporting that Veep alum Reid Scott has joined NBC drama pilot Echo.
From newcomer JJ Bailey, Echo revolves around a team of investigators who solve high profile crimes by leaping into the past and assuming the victim’s identity. While occupying the victim’s body, they must race against time to prevent the crime from happening in the first place.
Scott will play David, a member of the FBI who volunteers for the most dangerous undercover assignments.
Echo is one of six dramas currently in contention for a series order at NBC, joining At That Age, about the golden child of a family who suffers a catastrophic event; Debris, which follows two agents investigating wreckage from a destroyed alien spacecraft that has mysterious effects on humankind; sinkhole mystery La Brea; Dan Brown-based Langdon; and Ordinary Joe, following the three parallel lives of its main character after he makes a pivotal life choice.
In addition to his role on the acclaimed HBO comedy, Scott’s television credits include Why Women Kill, Will & Grace, and Great News.
Would you watch Echo if NBC ordered it to series? How do you think the show would differentiate itself from shows like Stitchers and Quantum Leap? Where would be the best place for NBC to schedule this?
