Deadline is reporting that CBS medical comedy pilot Carol’s Second Act has cast Baby Daddy alum Jean-Luc Bilodeau. He’ll be playing Harvard graduate Daniel, an intern at the hospital who’s already been published by The New England Journal of Medicine.
From Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins (Trophy Wife), Carol’s Second Act follows Carol Chambers (Patricia Heaton), a mother of two who retires from teaching and decides to try and become a doctor.
In addition to his role on the ABC Family/Freeform comedy, Bilodeau’s television credits include Kyle XY, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, and No Ordinary Family. He joins a cast that includes Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Ito Aghayere (Logan Lucky), and Bonnie Dennison (Guiding Light).
Carol’s Second Act is part of a comedy pilot slate for CBS that includes romantic comedy Bob Hearts Abishola; Broke, a late entry starring Jaime Camil as a trust fund baby who gets cut off from his father; The Emperor of Malibu from Crazy Rich Asians author Kevin Kwan; Our House, which follows a couple trying to raise kids despite an intrusive extended family; To Whom It May Concern, about a 20-something trying to accomplish a list of challenges he wrote for himself; The Unicorn, starring Walton Goggins as a widower back on the dating market; and The Us Project, which tells the story of a couple becoming a family through interviews and vignettes.
