SHILO: As far as current scripted shows, I think we’ll see Good Girls again after its decent performance and Netflix deal. I wouldn’t be shocked at more Rise since NBC loves it and is still behind it as we’re publishing this article. I doubt we see more Timeless (on NBC), Taken, or any new comedies that premiered this season, but NBC has made weird decisions before and will make them again, so who knows? In terms of scheduling, there’ll be a new drama replacing This Is Us, something filling in for Midnight, Texas come midseason, and comedies subbing in for both The Good Place and Will & Grace, at the very minimum. The only new series picked up for next season at the moment is The Gilded Age, which seems like something prestige-y that NBC would try on Sundays.
CRAIG: NBC midseason is always so unpredictable because it seems they often save their really good stuff for that time. I expect them to do the same this year as they do every year. One thing is for certain, though: I really hope to see Rise coming back for a second season. I also expect that thing from the Downton Abbey creator to end up airing at midseason, at the very least.

Part of why they didn’t want to move This Is Us was because of the interruption of Thursday Night Football. With one more solid season under its belt, a post-Super Bowl ep and ThNF now on FOX, I don’t see any reason for them to not move it.
