Most Surprising (Possible) Renewal: I know there’s no chance in hell, but I’m just going to put this there because it’s kinda funny: Heroes Reborn. I am so sad that the ball was fumbled on the Heroes update which I was so excited for. Now, they say it was a “limited series” despite ending on a cliffhanger; in any event, if there was ever to be a surprising renewal, that would be it. And, heck, Reborn got better ratings than some shows that got renewed. So what if this section is “possible renewal.” I’m just going to keep this here to be a rebel.
Show That Likely Won’t Be Renewed But Should Be: I’ll admit it: I really, really liked going to the Warner Bros. lot on Friday nights and watching them perform a live Undateable. I don’t even know if it’s a “should be”; it’s mostly just a selfish “should be” for me, because I liked watching the shows and I liked a lot of the cast. Beyond that: Is The Carmichael Show officially renewed yet? Because, “should be.”
Possible Scheduling Disaster: I could see it happening where audiences say there are too many Chicago shows. I also see it being possible that NBC has too much product for too few timeslots. Hopefully Spring and Summer won’t just be made up of afterthoughts.
Possible Biggest Surprise: I’ll be surprised if Taken works as a TV show, though the buzz seems positive.
Safest Bet: NBC’s weeks of Thursday Night Football will get better ratings than Heroes Reborn and The Player. Chicago Justice will obviously land somewhere.
Project I’m Rooting For: Though it’s not on my fall schedule, I am really curious about a modern-day sequel to Cruel Intentions. Getting Sarah Michelle Gellar back is a great idea and I’m always good for something soapy. So, NBC, PICK IT UP.
