MIDSEASON/OTHER THOUGHTS:

SHILO: If The Mindy Project is renewed by FOX, it will turn into their Mike & Molly – it’ll have a 22-episode order and be brought in when FOX makes the first change to its schedule. World’s Funniest Fails will pop up on Fridays sometime in 2016, possibly joined by a scripted underperformer or the final season of Bones, if Bones goes for 22 episodes next season. Another couple of comedies will likely be ordered, possibly to fill out Tuesdays once Scream Queens concludes its 15-episode first season. Rob Lowe’s The Grinder and Grandpa, starring John Stamos, seem to be gaining the most buzz right now, but I’d also expect to see at least one of the multi-cams (Fantasy Life, The Perfect Stanleys) to be ordered.

CRAIG: I offered some thoughts on midseason in my individual nights’ write-ups, for the most part. Beyond that, Cooper Barrett’s Guide To Surviving Life does sound good and it’d be nice to find a place for it. I haven’t heard any real buzz at all for Lucifer, despite its DC Comics pedigree; maybe turning a DC/Vertigo comic book into what is essentially a cop show might not be the best idea, but perhaps it plays well on screen. I’m assuming The Mindy Project will get its fourth season, either on FOX or somewhere else.
