SHILO’S PREDICTIONS: 8:00 Gotham; 9:00 Lucifer
CRAIG’S PREDICTIONS: 8:00 Gotham; 9:00 Lucifer
ACTUAL SCHEDULE: 8:00 Gotham; 9:00 Lucifer
SHILO: After Lucifer held its audience following a Gotham repeat, part of me wondered whether FOX would consider breaking up this twosome and shipping the younger show off to Thursday. However, they stood pat with this lineup and opted to focus their attention on other nights, which I think is the wise decision. Not only are these two shows extremely compatible, Lucifer is too valuable a show for them to risk on a night where they have a lot of problems. It’s likely going to be their second highest rated affiliate lead-in next season and it could be a long-term player for them, which, after the season they just had, would be a victory in and of itself. Plus, there’s the fact that Scorpion is moving back an hour on CBS, so Lucifer won’t have any procedural competition in the hour and might not have as large a drop next year due to said indirect competition.
CRAIG: I’m glad they’re keeping the two shows together and I’m especially glad that Lucifer has found an audience. It’s a fun show, serialized and procedural, and hopefully they won’t mess around with it too much like they did with Sleepy Hollow, which was once one of their brightest lights.
Gotham should continue to be a consistent Monday night performer, as it has maintained a loyal audience no matter what competition is thrown at it — and Mondays at 8 is consistently one of the most competitive slots out there.

Sleepy Hollow’s writers do best with a 13 ep season, as seen in season 1, that’s why. They can’t seem to handle longform.
