CRAIG: 8:00 Gotham; 9:00 Minority Report
SHILO: 8:00 Gotham; 9:00 Minority Report
ACTUAL SCHEDULE: 8:00 Gotham; 9:00 Minority Report

SHILO: You knew and I knew that this is the way that FOX was going to go on Mondays. Even with the drama pickups as genre leaning as they ended up being, Minority Report was still the favorite to land with Gotham, thanks to its name recognition factor, diverse cast, and science fiction trappings. There are only two worries I have about Minority Report going forward: A) Scorpion, which it might have some audience overlap with and B) FOX’s decision to make the series limited in favor of midseason replacement Lucifer. FOX is desperately in need of 22-episode dramas right now and to cut arguably their most promising newbie off at the knees seems short-sighted.

CRAIG: The big question for Mondays at 8, for me at least, is who will come out on top: Batboy or Supergirl over on CBS? I think Gotham will have its work cut out for it… the show will face The Big Bang Theory to start the season and then Supergirl flies in, going after the same comic book audience but also possibly getting more females than the Batman-related TV series.

With Minority Report, I’d imagine it’s a very expensive series and they might not want to roll the dice on 22 episodes to begin with… though, we’ve seen the “expensive series” thing done before at FOX with Almost Human and Terra Nova… hopefully this one will be a bit more successful for them. As for Lucifer, one “million” moms protests aside, I’d like to know how a concept like Lucifer could work as a TV series when a TV show based on John Constantine: Hellblazer didn’t. Guess we’ll see…

Next: Scream queens and John Stamos!
