CRAIG: It will probably have to move to another night in order to really stand out. I don’t see it working with Home Improve– I mean, Last Man Standing at all, which is a shame, because Cristela Alonso is funny, and the more diversity we get on TV, the better.
But ultimately, another thing it will need is simply to be a funny comedy a lot of people liked. The Goldbergs appealed to an audience because it was funny, and look… it got a Season 2. That’s Cristela’s best hope; catch on, and good audience numbers will ensure more seasons. If they don’t, it’ll join Malibu Country and other Friday night ABC sitcoms that went nowhere after one season. It’s probably also an uphill climb, since critics didn’t seem to like the pilot.

BATB is not an 8pm show, though. The tone fits 9pm.
Still miss Dracula. Want more Crossbones. Still think the CW should confine reality shows to summer.
