CRAIG’S CHOICES
Most Promising Trailer: Do you really expect me to say anything other than The Flash? That was an amazing promo, really getting me energized and excited to see more. I think it’ll appeal to the Arrow audience but even an audience beyond it, that prefers their comic book TV a little more sci-fi. I do hope they lighten up the costume, though.
Most Anticipated New Show: ^^ See above.
Best Scheduling Move: While I think a Flash/Supernatural combo could have actually made Mondays work if FOX hadn’t gone and slotted Gotham there, I do like the combination and think it’ll make for the highest-rated night of The CW week.
Worst Scheduling Move: Mondays. I get it – Mondays are competitive, what with The Voice, Big Bang, Gotham, and Dancing With The Stars, but… I’m not sure The Originals and Jane The Virgin will go well together, and I almost feel like the night is an afterthought. That’s really not good because eventually, The Vampire Diaries is going to be over, and The Originals will probably need to be strong enough to take its spot on Thursday nights.
Runner-up, though, would be using Whose Line Is It Anyway? as early as the fall. There can be too much of a good thing.
Most Likely New Hit: Do I even have to answer this?
Likely First Cancellation: Jane The Virgin. Prepare the “The CW sacrifices Virgin” headlines now. I think it could do well, but on a competitive Monday night with an incompatible lead-in, I don’t see it.
What I’ll Be Watching:
Fall: Arrow, Flash, The Originals (on DVR), Vampire Diaries (curious what happens after that cliffhanger!), Supernatural, The 100… let’s be honest here, I’ll be watching almost everything but Top Model.
Midseason: I’ll be checking out Messengers and iZombie, as well as some of the returning shows, too.
SHILO’s SUPERLATIVES
Most Promising Trailer: Jane the Virgin. It’s quirky, it’s got an Ugly Betty vibe that’s been missing on television, and it’s encouraging to see The CW embrace diversity.

Most Anticipated New Show: The Messengers. It’s a show that will be made or destroyed by the strength of its visuals and the intricacy of its plotting, so I’m curious to see how each will turn out upon the show’s debut.
Best Scheduling Move: Keeping Thursdays together. It’s not going to take the world by storm, but it keeps Reign from collapsing in its second season and doesn’t expose a new show to a tough slot with a weak lead-in.
Worst Scheduling Move: The Originals on Mondays. It’s cutting an already hobbling show off at the knees and making the same mistake that the network has made on this night for years.
Most Likely New Hit: The Flash. The CW is doing everything in their power to launch it and with an appealing lead, major brand recognition, the possibility of Arrow crossovers, favorable scheduling, and the network’s favor, it’s one of the surest things on the fall schedule.
Likely First Cancellation: Jane the Virgin. Granted, I don’t know if the show would be able to find an audience anywhere, but it’s going to get devoured by bigger, flashier offerings. Which is a shame, because it seems like a show that could thrive with a more comedic (e.g. Whose Line, Hart of Dixie) partner.
What I’ll Be Watching:
Fall: Reign, America’s Next Top Model
Midseason: Hart of Dixie, The Messengers
SO, HOW DID WE DO?
Giving a point per correct hour, but losing a half point if it’s in the wrong timeslot, Shilo again had the edge with a score of 4 out of 10. The CW really surprised us on several nights! Craig’s total – partly because of some wrong time slot guesses – landed him with a measly 2 out of 10. Oliver Queen would say he failed this city.
Come back tomorrow as we look at the CBS schedule!

The Originals is basically facing the same competition it had all year with The Voice and a superhero show (Shield/Gotham). Big Bang Theory is only there for a few weeks till it goes back to Thurs and DWTS is no juggernaut lol
