OUR GRADES FOR THE SEASON SO FAR:

ELLEN POMPEOShilo: C. Scheduling-wise, I think ABC put shows like Conviction and Notorious in good slots; it’s just that, for one reason or another, neither was able to take advantage of their situation. When you add those to the meltdown that all three scripted Sunday hours had, How to Get Away with Murder being down, and Designated Survivor losing audience quickly after a hot start, you get a fall that, while possessing some enviable pieces (e.g. Grey’s Anatomy being incredibly resilient, a strong comedy brand), wasn’t the first step ABC needed toward rebuilding.

Craig: C. The interchangeable-one-word-titled shows did ABC no favors and could have done damage to their respective nights. While the comedies on Tuesday seem to be a step in the right direction to me at least, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is fractional and Tuesday nights need *something* to prop them all up better. Hopefully with this being the first full development season under the new regime, ABC will have a better Fall than they did this year.
