ONCE UPON A TIME - "Homecoming" - As the residents of Hyperion Heights celebrate the breaking of the curse, Henry is visited by Wish Rumple, who's hatched an evil plan to use Ella and Lucy to keep Weaver from destroying the Dark One powers. In order to stop him, Henry, Roni, Weaver and Rogers must travel to the Wish Realm, home to versions of some of our most beloved and fearsome characters. In a flashback, a discouraged Young Henry is visited by Wish Rumple and offered a deal that could have tragic consequences, on Part One of the series finale of "Once Upon a Time," FRIDAY, MAY 11 (8:00-9:01 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. Once Upon a Time is nearing its end.

Part 1 of the two-part series finale is titled “Homecoming” and it’s the first part of a story that will bring back many Once Upon a Time favorites including Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas and Jennifer Morrison.

We were able to interview cast and producers from Once Upon a Time in a special red carpet event earlier this week — you can see several videos from that below — but first, enjoy our final Once Upon a Time interview with Executive Producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis as OUAT marches to its conclusion.

KSITETV’s CRAIG BYRNE: If Season 7 was the reboot series, would that make the finale “the reunion movie?”

EDWARD KITSIS: You know what it is? It’s the reunion. It’s the Live Aid concert. It’s all of us getting back together to sing the songs one more time.

ADAM HOROWITZ: Throughout the season, there were nods to the past and returns through, but these last two hours are really our love letter to the fans, saying “let’s do one more big Once Upon a Time adventure.”

KITSIS: We wanted the last two hours to remind the fans of why they fell in love and came on this journey with us to begin with.

Was it important for you to have the villain of the finale be somebody that the fans knew?

KITSIS: Yes. It was. There was no better villain than Rumpelstiltskin, and for us to have a Rumpelstiltskin that’s without hope that’s even darker…. I think selfishly as writers, we just wanted to write him one more time.

Are there any characters that may show up that have not been announced?

KITSIS: We don’t know what’s been announced!

HOROWITZ: So maybe? We hope there are surprises that we really hope the fans enjoy.

Was it challenging to bring back some of the Season 6 characters without dismantling their happy endings?

    BOTH: Yes.

HOROWITZ: It was very challenging, but when we designed Season 7, it was always with that in mind. We didn’t want to undo anything we had done in the first six years. That was a really complete story. So all the design of Season 7 was to very carefully keep that as still existing and tell a new story, and now we hope that all of it comes together at the end.

Will we meet an older version of Neal?

KITSIS: Yes. We will. I mean, Neal is grown up, so we might get to see a little grown up Baby Neal.

How many generations have we seen in that family now?

HOROWITZ: It’s a lot. It’s more than we can keep track of right now.

    KITSIS: 280!

Why should people tune in to these last two episodes?

KITSIS: For people that liked Once Upon a Time, even if you haven’t watched it, if you want to see it one more time, this is for you.

HOROWITZ: We wrote it for you guys, the fans, so we hope you come in and enjoy it. That’s why we’re still here, and that’s why we’re doing it.

You can see many interviews we did at the Once Upon a Time finale carpet on our YouTube channel — some photos from Part 1 of the series finale can be seen below!
