ABC has released some cast photos from their upcoming North Dakota oil boom series Blood & Oil, which premieres September 7, and it seems all of the cast photos feature just four actors: Don Johnson (Hap Briggs), Amber Valletta (Carla), Rebecca Rittenhouse (Cody LeFever), and Chace Crawford (Billy).
But one heavily-promoted actor is not in the gallery — nor was he on the TCA press tour panel earlier this year. Scott Michael Foster of Greek and Chasing Life fame.
Should we worry about his absence, especially in light of so many behind-the-scenes changes for the show?
According to co-creator Rodes Fishburne, we shouldn’t worry at all.
“We love Scott,” Fishburne assured us at the recent press tour. “He’s an incredibly strong actor. He’s digging in to this role with all of his talent, which is evident every day. I think this is a great role for him; he gets to play a nuanced character who is sort of the black sheep of the family, and we’re going to get to see him try to redeem himself, and Scott’s perfect for that.”
Now, all things should come with a grain of salt as news of Cynthia Cidre’s departure as showrunner was avoided during the panel that preceded the scrum… but for now, it seems Cappie — we mean, Wick — is safe.
