Jill is someone who can only be herself. While it’s an admirable trait, how tightly she clings to her sense of self and how confident she can be with who she is, it’s not the best way of getting ahead, particularly in her community. She’s from an area that thrives on homogeneity and sanded down thought, so when people see that she’s this off-kilter, spontaneous personality that doesn’t fit into the cookie cutter image of what a well-off New York mother should be, they recoil. Which can be a good thing, of course, considering how much Jill loves to mess with those intimidated by her and/or those who underestimate her; however, can Jill find a way to go with the flow for the sake of her career?
On the next episode of Odd Mom Out, Jill’s work gets put into an art show, an exciting turn in her fairly recent comeback to the world of professional photography. She gets to be seen by influential figures in the art world and could, if she plays her cards right, book more work through the building of her reputation. But between Jill showing off the fruits of her labor from one project and figuring out what she wants to do next is the ugly task of selling herself, as she doesn’t really know how to talk up her work in a way that would appeal to the average customer at one of these shows. Rather than showing people who she actually is, Jill has to fit the mold of someone they feel comfortable enough around to want to buy art from, a task that’ll prove especially difficult for someone unaccustomed to slathering bullshit over everything they say.
Elsewhere on Odd Mom Out, best-selling author Derek Blasberg pays an uncomfortable visit to Brooke and Lex, while Lex receives advice about his next career move from a stranger.
Odd Mom Out airs Wednesdays at 10:00 on Bravo.
Will Jill master the art of Art Bullshit long enough to sell some of her pieces? What should Lex do with himself now that Hercules is no more? How will Brooke take to the idea of being the provider for her family?
