Deadline is reporting that Starz comedy Now Apocalypse has added Breaking Bad alum RJ Mitte and Grace Victoria Cox (Under the Dome) in recurring roles. Mitte is set as Leif, a good-looking guy who meets wannabe actress Carly by the pool and soon becomes a temptation, while Cox will play Carly’s roommate (and sounding board) Amber.
From Gregg Araki (Kaboom) and Vogue columnist Karley Sciortino, with Steven Soderbergh (The Girlfriend Experience) executive producing, Now Apocalypse is described as a surreal, coming-of-age comedy that follows thrill seeker Ulysses (Avan Jogia), Carly (Kelli Berglund), aspiring screenwriter Ford (Beau Mirchoff), and confident astrobiological theorist Severine (Roxane Mesquida), a group of Los Angeles young adults who are pursuing love and fame while dealing with issues of identity and artistry. The group’s concerns over dating and identity are interrupted, though, when Ulysses becomes convinced that the nightmares he suffers from are pointing toward a vast, sinister conspiracy.
In addition to his role on AMC drama, Mitte has appeared on the likes of Switched at Birth, This Close, and Vegas, whereas Cox’s television credits include Heathers and Twin Peaks. They’re part of a recurring cast that consists of Tyler Posey, Chris Aquilino, and Jacob Artist, among others.
