On the new CW series No Tomorrow, premiering October 4 following The Flash, a young woman (Tori Anderson) meets a charming man named Xavier (Joshua Sasse) who seems to be really great… and then he drops a bomb on her: According to his research, the end of the world as we know it is nigh. He encourages the young woman, Evie, to create an “Apocalist” of what she wants to do before the world is over — whether it’s off-road racing, singing in front of people, or even giving up on grooming personal areas.
No Tomorrow was previewed yesterday at the CW portion of Television Critics Association Summer press tour, where the cast and creators talked a bit about what’s to come — including the notion of giving viewers a “ticking clock” so they know how long it is before The End.
“We did talk about that,” Executive Producer Corinne Brinkerhoff confirmed at yesterday’s panel. “The original format did have, I believe, a little running clock. It’s something we’ve thought about and haven’t necessarily landed on, because we don’t necessarily want to put too fine a point on exactly where we are, but the idea is just to stay in the moment, live in the moment, and that carries through regardless of whether we’re at eight months or seven months or six months. But it’s something we’re looking at and thinking about in terms of our long‑term plan,” she said.
Regardless, we will see a resolution to the date that Xavier has warned Evie about. “We will eventually have the payoff of what the clock is ticking down to; for what happens after May 22nd, absolutely. It’s just a function of when we want to reach that day within our show,” Brinkerhoff says.
