Evie blew up her entire life for Xavier. Before he came into her purview, she was a quiet, unassuming quality control specialist with a nice boyfriend and a low-key social life. While she probably kept to herself too much and lived to the expectations of others rather than herself, she was able to build a stable life for herself that, while ultimately unfulfilling, could have sustained itself for quite a while. Xavier’s influence has caused Evie to go for what she wanted professionally and personally, resulting in her getting into the Cyber Hugs program and embracing the now, but once Evie found out that Xavier’s name isn’t, in fact, Xavier, she began questioning this person she let into her life so quickly. If Xavier has been lying to her this entire time, was having him in her life the right decision, even if positive things came from it?
On the next episode of No Tomorrow, Evie confronts Xavier about his deception and how, even through the experiences they’ve shared, he’s never volunteered his actual story to her. She’s opened herself up to him, but his evasiveness has made the relationship has been incredibly one-sided; if she’s the one constantly giving and he’s refused to let down his walls, even after everything he’s been through with her, what’s to say that he’s not the one wasting her time instead of the other way around? Xavier’s accusations that Evie wasted their time by not telling him about Tyra tossing his theory are some incredible projection, with his behavior since getting to know her going against everything he’s proclaimed his apocalypse-mandated lifestyle choices are about. He’s not living in the now, nor is he being upfront and honest with people regardless of consequences; he’s trapped in his past and operating out of a place of fear, so until he confronts his issues with his father, he’s nothing but a hypocrite.
Elsewhere on No Tomorrow, Hank and Deirdre’s relationship gets even more complicated when he covers for her when she gets sick, while Kareema makes a shocking discovery about her reputation at Cybermart and Evie reconnects with Timothy while spending time away from Xavier.
No Tomorrow returns Tuesday, December 27th at 9:00 on The CW.
Will Xavier be able to work out his issues with his father? Could Evie reconnecting with Timothy further undermine her relationship with Xavier? Might Hank have to get a new job, considering how difficult working alongside Deirdre will become?
