The Disney+ series featuring Marvel’s Moon Knight may have an actor in mind to play the title role — Oscar Isaac.
That is, at least, what THR and others are reporting at the moment — news that is exciting many. Of course, considering there was a whole denial of Tatiana Maslany about reports that she would be playing She-Hulk — though we still say that’s her hiding the notion that she’s portraying the character’s alter ego Jennifer Walters — who knows what is true or false in this realm.
Originally appearing in Marvel’s Werewolf by Night comic book and later starring in over 200 issues of series of his own, Moon Knight has had many phases — while mercenary Marc Spector is his original identity, sometimes he has taken others, including billionaire Steven Grant and taxi cab driver Jake Lockley. There was even a series by Brian Michael Bendis where Moon Knight took on the personas of several popular Avengers including Captain America, Spider-Man, and Wolverine. We’re thinking, if there are multiple personalities involved, it’ll probably stick to the original ones.
Jeremy Slater, who wrote and developed The Umbrella Academy for Netflix, is developing the Disney+ Moon Knight show which will join such upcoming series as Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel.
Interesting to note that this would not be Oscar Isaac’s first Marvel go-round if it happens. He played Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse and was seen in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099.
