In between many posts where they accidentally call the series “Moon Night,” Deadline has revealed that award-winning director Mohamed Diab (Eshtebak (Clash)) has been selected to direct for the upcoming Marvel series Moon Knight for Disney+. As revealed earlier this week, the project may very likely star Oscar Isaac, though neither Isaac’s casting nor the director appointment have been confirmed by Disney+ or Marvel.
Jeremy Slater (The Umbrella Academy) is developing the project for television streaming. Here’s how Deadline describes the series:
Moon Knight, aka Marc Spector, a mercenary who has numerous alter egos — cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant — in order to better fight the criminal underworld. But later he was established as being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Most recently, the character was a consultant who dresses in all-white and goes by the name Mr. Knight.
