NYMag’s Vulture today is reporting that Gossip Girl and Chuck producer Josh Schwartz is working with original Misfits creator Howard Overman to create a U.S. adaptation of the British television series.
The original series, about a group of young delinquents who get supernatural powers after an electrical storm, is soon to begin its third series on E4.
Schwartz and Overman are writing this treatment on spec through Schwartz’s Fake Empire banner at Warner Bros. Television. At present this project has not even landed at a network – if it ever lands at one at all.

Oh brother… A storm is coming… and not a good one.
I love the UK series, I can’t imagine an American version being any better, almost a waste of time. But then again I was surprised by SyFy’s version of Being Human, maybe lightning can strike twice (no pun intended)
Won’t work, what made misfits so good was because it was like Heroes only they didn’t care as much about trying to save the world just live and be stupid teenagers. That and they are gonna be hard pressed try and find an actor to portray the character of Nathan as good as the UK actor
