TV Line is reporting that NBC supernatural drama Midnight, Texas has added Transparent actress Trace Lysette. She’ll be playing Celeste, a gorgeous, designer-obsessed witch who arrives on Fiji’s doorstep delivering a huge announcement.
In addition to her role on the Amazon dramedy, Lysette has appeared on the likes of Pose, Blunt Talk, and Drunk History. She’s one of several new additions to the show’s second season, including Nestor Carbonell (Bates Motel) as magnetic holistic healer Kai, who doesn’t convince all of the Midnighters of the validity of his gifts; Jaime Ray Newman (The Magicians) as Kai’s wife Patience, who approaches these new surroundings in a more savvy way than her husband and who immediately takes a liking to Manfred; and Josh Kelly (UnREAL) as openly gay demon hunter Walker, whose intense mutual attraction with Joe gets them both into trouble.
Season two of Midnight, Texas sees a showrunner change, as Monica Owusu-Breen (Agents of SHIELD) stepped down in favor of Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder (Ringer), as well as the departure of Sarah Ramos (Parenthood) and Yul Vazquez (Captain Phillips).
The second season of Midnight, Texas is set to premiere Friday, October 26th at 9:00 on NBC.
